We're looking for a Planning Manager to lead the development of department business plans that support our global merchandise strategy and drive sales and profit growth. You'll guide a team in building pre‑season plans, managing in‑season performance, analyzing off‑price metrics, and ensuring optimal inventory flow. Partnering closely with Merchants and business leaders, you'll influence key strategies, assess new business tests, and drive flawless execution. As a people‑focused leader, you'll coach and develop your team while building strong succession plans that support their long‑term growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Accountable for building department/category business plans 6+ months out to support global merchandise strategy to support sales and profit objectives of the business. Oversees the development of specific business plans, including execution, reporting, monitoring and budget management
  • Plans department needs by creating pre-season department dollar and unit plans and managing business in-season to fund sales and trade inventory
  • Proactively probes team to continuously analyze off-price metrics and provide recommendations to business partners
  • Directs team to ensure optimal outbound inventory flow and freshness that support the business plan; identifying and escalating sales risks due to flow challenges; Influence optimal Inbound flow with merchants and business partners
  • Leads pre-strategy discussion and preparation with business partners and supporting Planning team in proactively prepping and actively contributing to strategy discussions. Follows up to ensure time and action is executed and closes the loop with business partners
  • Collaborates with Merchants to assess and influence the viability of new business tests/ seeds and/or key drivers presenting results and recommendations to senior management and business partners
  • Provides leadership, continuous feedback and motivates teams through formal/informal recognition,
  • Coaches and trains Planning team and is a resource to answer questions and discuss best practices
  • Creates succession plans to meet future needs of the organization to ensure each team member has a development plan that supports their growth and career aspirations

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Retail or Business Management preferred or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Retail Planning & Allocation preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial planning, business tools and reports to make business recommendations
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to provide solutions; ability to leverage prior experience and adapt quickly to the changing work environment to make effective decisions, revise business strategies to support the vision of the organization
  • Knowledge of the global retail landscape and market trends to develop future strategies and capture market share
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence business partners, to help prioritize activities and resources to meet the organization needs, build rapport and credibility to be a trusted advisor. Interpersonal communication skills with persuasive influencing skills to build cross-functional relationships and effectively lead a department; effective presentation skills
  • Demonstrates management skills including organizational, negotiating, listening, conflict management and information gathering skills. Demonstrated solid people management skills including coaching, providing advice and guidance to Associates in the resolution of problems
  • Good people management skills including coaching, providing advice and guidance to associates in the resolution of problems; evaluating performance and providing feedback to team members
  • Strong problem solving skills including analysis of information (i.e. requirements; description of problems); provide solutions with cost implications to effectively resolve issues and execute strategic solutions
  • Knowledge of the global retail landscape and market trends to develop future strategies and capture market share
  • Solid project management skills including structured project methodology (i.e. determining needs, researching existing programs, etc.); preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects; determining project specifications; understanding and applying principles of project control to launch and manage new initiatives and innovations. Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing needs of the business, and changing priorities
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Salary Range: $87,031.00-$131,789.80 /year *This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
