We're looking for a Payroll Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service. What You'll Do:
- Oversee day-to-day payroll operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across all jurisdictions, including expatriates.
- Resolve payroll system interface issues and drive process improvements for seamless integration.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, collective agreements, and company policies while maintaining high associate satisfaction.
- Lead year-end payroll processes, including statutory reporting (T4s, Relevés, T2200s) and audits.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to optimize payroll processes and implement business continuity plans. Mentor and develop team members through talent planning, coaching, and fostering strong analytical and business acumen.
About You:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive payroll experience, including 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role overseeing large-scale payroll operations (multi-province).
- Knowledge of benefits, HR and GL processes and their relationship to payroll operations.
- NPI Payroll Leadership Professional designation or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and experience with time and attendance systems (e.g., Kronos); familiarity with Workday, UKG Pro, UKG Pro WFM, and ServiceNow is an asset.
- In-depth understanding of federal and provincial payroll legislation, audit requirements, and payroll best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write, communicate and interpret information accurately; bilingualism an asset; able to develop and build relationships with internal and external partners / team members; able to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking; customer service skills including efficiently and effectively responding to inquiries or resolving any conflicts or problems that might arise.
- Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage complex issues and mentor team members effectively.
