Job Description:

Based in the Republic of Ireland, the Marketing Manager will work within the Brand & Marketing Function playing a critical role within the Ireland Country Marketing Team to deliver first-class marketing for TK Maxx, along with supporting activation plans for the local Homesense stores.

This is an exciting, dynamic, varied and challenging Management role, focused on the development and delivery of first-class marketing to support achievement of annual sales and business goals.

The Marketing Manager will lead by example, directing and managing a team of agency partners - including media and experiential agencies - acting as an ambassador for TJX and what it stands for.

The Role:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing a local marketing strategic plan through to activation plans delivery, for a range of business stakeholders across the Brand & Marketing function and the Ireland Country Marketing function. Under the guidance of the Manager of Ireland Country Marketing, the role holder will shape how millions of customers experience the brand, through direct business impact and the autonomy to drive bold, creative work.

The role requires strong understanding of the broad multi-channel marketing mix, including but not limited to media, social, influence, experiential etc. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commercial understanding and relevant retail experience

This is a high-visibility role for the entire Irish market, and with the support of the Manager of Marketing, the successful candidate will therefore need to demonstrate the confidence in stakeholdering Ireland marketing plans across a breadth of internal and external business and agency partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and own the marketing/media plan to deliver the Ireland TK Maxx annual strategy and supporting Homesense strategy in line with business goals and priorities.
  • Management of external media agency, to deliver all day-to-day workings of the account including the development of all the media activity. Also supporting with the integration of the total local agency network.
  • Diligent budget management for the annual TK Maxx & Homesense media budget, inclusive of PO management and budgetary planning/phasing, keeping costs within plan. Pro-actively anticipating future challenges or opportunities impacting budget.
  • Working with the Manager of Ireland Country Marketing and wider Brand & Marketing team to define and manage marketing/media processes, ensuring that they are efficient and integrated. Adjust processes and ways of working as the business evolves.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of marketing/media from wider industry resources
  • Ingest and review market insights, local commercial data points and brand health from the wider Brand & Marketing team and business partners, to ensure local data is factored into Ireland Marketing activity plans.
  • Partner with internal key business partners that maximises prioritised commercial and business opportunities across the wider business and marketing functions, such as Gift Cards, Treasure, Store Trading and Retail teams.
  • Manage the local marketing agenda, covering focus stores, new store openings, relocations and refurbishments- this includes a mixture of media and onsite activity.
  • Partner closely with the Ireland Communications Managers to ensure a cohesive 360 approach to campaigns and activity across areas such as Influence, social media, store events, CR campaigns and brand partnerships.

Shared responsibilities:

  • Represent team Ireland, the Brand & Marketing function and TJX Europe, to all internal business partners and external agencies.
  • Management of local agency integrated network.
  • Introduce, evolve and action processes and ways of working as the business evolves.
  • To understand, report and react to the Ireland market commercials across areas such as, footfall, sales, category performance, regional performance etc. to ensure a balanced and hard-working market plan.
  • Monitor progress against goals to deliver the best possible result.
  • Oversee the delivery of compelling and useful outputs and learnings.
  • To ensure that all processes are adhered to, clearly documented and communicated to key stakeholders.
  • Partner with TJX stakeholders where needed across all aspects of the role.
  • Presenting to large audiences (10 people plus).

Team and Relationship Management

  • To deputise (when required) for the Manager of Marketing Ireland.
  • Build and develop strong relationships with key business partners and senior stakeholders within the Brand & Marketing team, Retail and Store Trading functions.
  • Asks challenging and thought-provoking questions to gain understanding = be curious
  • Build strong, effective working relationships with external partners - equivalent level and above
  • Proactively develop the Media agency team, identifying development needs and training opportunities, as well as managing performance of total local agency network (including at a more senior level)
  • To support the development and onboarding of new brand and marketing team members, and specific line management responsibility (where required)

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • At least 5 years professional experience in either marketing or other relevant experience (Agency or Client side).
  • Experience in leading the management of third-party agencies to deliver results.
  • Experience of working within a large retail business or matrix organisations (Preferable but not essential).
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Experience of self-development, objective setting and performance management.
  • Flexible, able to find solutions in uncertain or unknown circumstances, comfortable working 'in the grey'.
  • Highly numerate and confident with commercial data, managing budgets and creating/analysing reports.
  • Ability to control and manage to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of working with task management and creative development tools: Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs & Copilot.
  • A love of retail
