Job Description:

The Market Representative is accountable to execute primary sourcing activities necessary towards achieving business objectives, with support and guidance from their Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits strong commitment and motivation to deliver results. Understands and aligns sourcing strategies with buying vision and strategy and responds to a changing market.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of vendors and product opportunities in each market to drive the right product with the right vendors.
  • Evaluate the market to recommend the best source for a particular product or category of products. Research new opportunities based on market trends.
  • Monitor order from placement with vendor, sample distribution, to final quality inspection and shipping.
  • Initiates and streamlines timely communication to all necessary parties, escalating when needed.
  • Negotiate the best price for merchandise in conjunction with the buyers.
  • Oversee and visit manufacturers and factories as required. Trouble shoots issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate buyer trips to factories or manufacturers.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Formal education: Graduate Degree
  • Strong product knowledge of Soft Home.
  • Good Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, problem solving, negotiation and time management skills.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience of which at least 3-4 years' experience in buying office, agent, or well-known retailer catering to U.S. Market.
