Our organization:

As a Senior Data Migration Engineer, you will play a mission‑critical role in StoreWeb modernization by designing and executing zero‑data‑loss migration strategies that safely transition legacy systems to modern cloud platforms. You will define and implement CDC, dual‑write, replay, and reconciliation frameworks that ensure data consistency and auditability throughout incremental Strangler‑Fig cutovers. While this is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, your migration patterns and standards will shape how modernization teams move and validate data at enterprise scale.

What you will do

- Architect incremental data‑migration strategies (CDC, dual‑write, replay, reconciliation) enabling zero‑disruption cutovers.

- Define per‑capability migration approaches with clear validation rules, success criteria, and rollback plans.

- Build automation for data validation, drift detection, and reconciliation, integrated directly into CI/CD pipelines.

- Design schema‑evolution patterns, idempotent consumption models, and conflict‑resolution strategies for distributed systems.

- Establish observability for data movement including metrics, audit trails, anomaly detection, and reconciliation dashboards.

- Partner closely with backend, integration, and platform engineers to ensure data‑migration readiness and rollout safety.

- Author migration runbooks and reference patterns adopted across modernization teams.

Minimum Qualifications

- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data migration, or distributed data systems.

- Expert SQL skills with hands‑on experience in Azure SQL and/or Cosmos DB.

- Strong experience with CDC, ETL pipelines, and production data cutovers.

- Deep understanding of data consistency models, reconciliation techniques, and validation patterns.

- Proven experience supporting high‑risk production migrations with rollback safety.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with event‑driven data movement using Service Bus, Event Grid, or streaming platforms.

- Background in offline data synchronization, conflict detection, and resolution strategies.

- Familiarity with large‑scale modernization or domain‑extraction initiatives.
