About the Role
Under the supervision of the Senior Policy Analyst, this position offers a variety of work tasks, an opportunity to learn much about Aviation's core business and Agency procedures and priorities, along with the potential for professional growth. The Senior Administrative Secretary provides critical support and is responsible for a wide range of confidential administrative and business support at JFK. The successful candidate will be an essential member of the General Manager's Office support staff. This position is located at the JFK Airport. This position is not represented by the Communications Workers of America.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform special assignments as required.
- Preparing correspondence using Microsoft Word and/or email; proofreading correspondence for signature; reviewing and prioritizing incoming correspondence.
- Maintaining files and regular program files, ticklers and/or follow-up systems.
- Manage business travel arrangements for staff, process and track business expenses and/or reimbursements, ensuring timely submission of travel and special events requests. Coordinate the logistics for travel, payment, and registrations.
- Gather and organize items for JFK's weekly reports.
- This position will assist the Deputy General Manager and serve as a back up to the General Manager's Senior Administrative Secretary and will also assist management staff with administrative policy and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge of office equipment (printers, copiers, scanners, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff at all levels within and outside the organization
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
Desired
- Ideal candidates will present the following profile:
- At least 5 years of experience in providing executive-level administrative support in a fast-paced professional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and use independent judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work independently
Selection Process

Salary range: Minimum $54,626 Midpoint $71,006 Maximum $87,386
