We are seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-native database solutions running on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud. The solutions include relational and No-SQL products.
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement cloud-based database architectures that meet application requirements and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with application teams to architect scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud database solutions that align with enterprise standards.
- Partner with the Cloud Engineering and Site Reliability Engineers to integrate database CI/CD pip elines into their application deployments. Including Jenkins and Ansible.
- Have i n-depth knowledge o f designing and building automation for database provisioning and repetitive tasks using infrastructure as code tools, including AWS's CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and high availability strategies. Provide DR testing support.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, regulatory and privacy standards . Capability with preparing evidence to support internal and external auditors.
- Proficient at preparing deployment and operational procedure manuals.

- Provide second-level support for troubleshooting production incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Design an d implement native cloud database solutions using Terraform and AWS's CloudFormation .
- Automate the monitoring and alerting of database performance and availability.
- Provide support for the operational support team on routine database maintenance, including backups, patching, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Master the latest DB features and apply them to provide a measurable value to application teams.
- Perform analysis and end-to-end execution from roadmap to implementation of database consolidations, migrations, and conversions .
- Work to reduce complexity and cost in database environments through analysis, simplification, and automation using Ansible, Python, T erraform or other tools.
- Evaluate new product releases and make recommendations on implementation of newest versions.
- Assist application and DBA teams with databases migration from an on-prem system to the Cloud.
- Maintain documentation of standard operating policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 - 5 years of professional experience managing relational and NoSQL databases in a cloud environment (AWS and GCP).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
- In-depth knowledge of GitHub
- Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines , Ansible automation and Service Now.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, VPCs, subnets, and security groups as they relate to database deployments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- The ability to learn fast on the job by partnering with senior resources .
- A passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across cross-functional teams. Ex cellent critical thinking skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on with designing and building infrastructure deployments using Terraform and CloudFormation
- Strong documentation skills in creating and maintaining operational policies and procedures.
- A desire for continuous learning
