About the Role:

The Regional Director helps businesses relocate or expand operations in the Commonwealth. The Regional Director serves as a single point of contact for businesses in their region. The Regional Director is focused on promoting private investment and job growth by assisting companies to navigate and access resources to grow. They are the face of the Business Front Door and Team MA as expansions happen in their region. The Regional Director maintains relationships across the region to support the business growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inbound Sales / Business Interactions: Respond to all inbound requests for support from referrals, MOBD website, phone, email and the Business Front Door. Ensure resource discussions and recommendations are maintained throughout the entire process, from inquiry to award.
  • Represent Team MA in their Region: Develop, manage, coordinate and monitor the state's overall regional economic development efforts with meetings with municipalities and business partners including conferences/seminars, and site visits and tours.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and report out on pipelines within the Business Front Door Salesforce. Ensure large and code name deals within region receive appropriate response and follow up.
  • Advising and Support: Support other regional directors as they navigate and support businesses in their region. Act as an advisor for best practices.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Must possess excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Must be proficient at public speaking.
  • Must have the ability to interact with business professionals at all levels.
  • Must have excellent project management skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and team skills.
  • Sales, sales management, or marketing experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least one (1) year must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (A) experience.

II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (A) experience.

III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required (A) experience.

IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required (A) experience.
