Job Description
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission ("MSLC") Summer Internship Program provides emerging leaders with the opportunity to build a foundational understanding of caree pathways in public service through experiential learning opportunities.
Interns will participate in weekly professional development workshops, mentoring opportunities, and conclude the program with a final presentation to showcase the insights they've developed over the summer.
JOB SUMMARY
The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission ("MSLC") is looking for enthusiastic Marketing Interns to support the goals of the Marketing Department. In this collaborative, entry-level role, the candidate will have the opportunity to work with various teams across the department to plan events and assist with social media campaigns. This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and provide you with insight into the lottery industry. Ultimately, the ideal candidate will gain broad experience in marketing, content creation, and product development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Regularly travel across Massachusetts to retailer locations, regional Lottery offices, and various cities and towns for content creation, marketing events, etc.
- Assist the Stakeholder Engagement team with the planning and execution of marketing events, both in-house and off-site.
- Assist the Social Media Coordinator and digital marketing team to create social media content that supports the brand and our various product lines.
- Support the team in the development of advertising, product campaigns, and new product launches.
- Work with the Lottery's in-house video production team to create content to support current and upcoming campaigns.
- Support the graphic design team by resizing digital assets.
- Complete other administrative tasks, as needed.
- The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission serves the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts though its headquarters and regional offices. Interns will be required to travel to work in any such location as the needs of the Lottery demand.
- A valid driver's license will be required.
- Physical ability to lift and carry 30-50 lbs.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time paid internship from June 1, 2026 - August 28, 2026. Program dates can be flexible based on the selected candidate's school schedule.
This internship is hybrid eligible. The hybrid schedule requires a minimum of 2 days/week in the Dorchester office. One of those days must be either a Monday or a Friday. Additional in-person days may be required for training, meetings, team projects, or event travel each week.

Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current student of a 4-year undergraduate program studying Marketing, Business, Communication, or Graphic Design.
- Basic Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- Experience with Canva.
- Experience with all social media platforms (Instagram Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube, etc.).
