This is a contract position funded through December 30, 2026. The analyst will work a hybrid schedule, with a mix of remote and in-office work at the EEC offices, with other possible meetings in the Boston area or around the state as needed.

Please note that pursuant to Massachusetts general law, contracted employees are not paid for the eleven scheduled holidays, do not receive any paid, vacation, personal leave benefits, or contribute to the state retirement system or social security. As a state contracted employee, you must participate in direct deposit and contribute towards the Commonwealth of Massachusetts state alternate retirement plan, ("OBRA Plan").

This position offers some flexibility of location within the current hybrid work model.

The Department of Early Education and Care is seeking a contractedBusiness Front Door Navigator to perform the following duties/essential duties:

The Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) seeks an innovative individual to support a collaboration between EEC and the Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) in serving as a navigator to support early educators in the Business Front Door (BFD) platform. The BFD serves as a centralized hub to connect with a range of relevant state resources and the navigator's role will be to serve as the dedicated point of contact for early education & child care providers. The navigator will be responsible for recommending relevant resources and providing guidance to address their business needs. The navigator would be trained in the BFD system, would engage directly with early education & child care businesses, and would attend weekly meetings with cross-agency partners to learn about the various state offerings.

The navigator will also be responsible for collecting and synthesizing feedback and developing recommendations to inform the agency's broader strategic work to provide the early childhood education sector with business training and support.

This role will report the Associate Commissioner for Program Support and Innovation

Preferred qualifications:

The successful candidate will have many or all the following experiences, qualifications and/ or characteristics:

• 5+ years in management roles in the early education field

• Experience working with small businesses, community outreach, or understanding government programs and resources.

• Ability to set priorities and identify and implement strategies

• Ability to review and analyze data and research on early education and care trends

• Professional level written and oral communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple cases and track interactions. Experience with a CRM system or Salesforce a plus but not required.

• A commitment to providing excellent customer service and support, with a friendly and approachable demeanor

• Ability to collaborate and navigate cross-agency relationships
