Overview
The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Enrollment Management is responsible for optimizing enrollment in all programs at Salem State University, including undergraduate day, continuing education, and graduate programs. The AVP will develop and implement appropriate strategies to meet enrollment goals in conjunction with University priorities and leadership. As both a strategic leader and hands-on manager, the AVP will provide mentoring, guidance and supervision to a team of enrollment management directors and their staff, to ensure excellent service to prospective and current students. The AVP also serves as a member of a dynamic Division of Student Success leadership team.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Serves as the chief enrollment officer for the university.
- Leads admissions, financial aid, and other areas within the office of enrollment management.
- Develops a comprehensive strategic enrollment management and recruitment plan that provides a roadmap for the achievement of the University's enrollment goals.
- Hires, develops, evaluates, and provides leadership to all subordinate staff, including directors. Provides guidance and creative solutions to staff when presented with issues/concerns.
- Optimizes the university's financial aid leveraging model to meet enrollment goals.
- Serves as a resource for the Board of Trustees.
- Oversees the refund appeal and enrollment deferral process.
- Coordinates with the VP of Student Success and the VP for Finance & Facilities in the development of enrollment goals related to the university's budget.
- Coordinates with other departments and academic units to execute recruitment, enrollment plans and student success initiatives.
- Supports proactive use of technology to carry out office functions, with the goal of optimizing the student experience, increasing efficiency, and enhancing procedural effectiveness.
- Communicates regularly with appropriate members of the University community regarding recruitment strategies and events, and academic program enrollment goals.
- Coordinates with Marketing and Communications by representing enrollment management's perspective, fostering multidisciplinary team collaboration, and equipping participants with best-practices and training.
- Builds and fosters healthy relationships with all Salem State University administrative offices, divisions and schools to ensure effective communication and updates between offices and enrollment management. Collaborates with faculty and staff regarding improvements in serving prospective, new and continuing students.
- Ongoing development and monitoring of statistical comparison/trend reports of recruitment activities including, but not limited to, monthly enrollment updates, marketing source tracking, competitive analysis data and demographic statistics.
- Provides strategic oversight for the coordination of on- and off-campus visits and events, including travel strategy and policy.
- Responsible for the enrollment management budget.
- Partner closely with Information Technology Services to define, develop specifications for, and implement processes.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to students, faculty and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to students with a diversity of learning styles.
- Serves as a role model and mentor for students as appropriate.

This is an onsite position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities, which may require occasional work on evenings and weekends.
