Overview

The School of Social Work at Salem State University is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our School as the Online Program Director. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of social work professionals. The MSW program admitted its first online cohort in January of 2022 and the BSW program admitted its first cohort in May 2025. Both programs have a robust face-to-face program on our campus in Salem. This position will be responsible for providing support to online undergraduate and graduate programs and students. This is a full-time 12-month staff position, with on-campus presence requirement.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a master's degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program
  • Two years of documented post MSW social work practice experience
  • Knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards and procedures
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with online social work field education is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice principles and willingness to contribute to the excellence of the academic community through civic engagement
  • Experience advising students in a social work program
  • Working Location

    This is an onsite position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities, which may require occasional work on evenings and weekends.
