Warehouse Automation Manager
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong technical leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, developing high-performing teams, and delivering innovative automation solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will lead automation improvement projects focused on increasing throughput, improving system uptime, enhancing inventory accuracy, and supporting production supply reliability. You will also oversee the lifecycle management of warehouse automation technologies and vendor-supported systems, helping to shape the future of warehouse automation across the site.
What You'll Do for Us
Lead the Warehouse Automation Systems team, ensuring reliable day-to-day support for warehouse, production delivery, and logistics operations.
Provide technical leadership across warehouse automation technologies, including WMS, SAP EWM, robotics, AGVs, AMRs, middleware, control systems, and system integrations.
Drive rapid issue resolution, structured troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to maximise system uptime and operational performance.
Oversee the performance, reliability, and lifecycle management of automated warehouse equipment and supporting infrastructure.
Lead warehouse automation projects from concept through implementation, commissioning, and operational handover.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automation systems effectively support business, operational, and customer requirements.
Manage relationships with external vendors, system integrators, and technology partners to deliver safe, compliant, and effective solutions.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, inventory accuracy, equipment availability, and operational efficiency.
Use data, system metrics, and performance trends to support decision-making, prioritisation, and management reporting.
Ensure all automation support and project activities comply with safety, quality, cyber security, validation, and regulatory requirements.
* Develop team capability through training, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of standardised processes and best practices.

Key Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems, IT, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in automation, warehouse systems, process control, systems integration, IT infrastructure, or production support within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical, automation, or operational support teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong expertise in warehouse automation technologies, including WMS, SAP EWM, MES, ERP integrations, robotics, AGVs, AMRs, middleware, and control systems.
- Experience supporting and maintaining complex automation architectures, industrial networks, databases, server infrastructure, and virtualized environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across automation, robotics, warehouse systems, networks, databases, and integrated technologies.
- Experience delivering automation and systems projects, including requirements gathering, vendor selection, implementation, commissioning, testing, and operational handover.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, throughput, equipment availability, operational efficiency, and standardization.
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, engineering, logistics, quality, IT, and senior leadership teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear operational processes, training, and documentation.
- Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, using data, metrics, and performance insights to support decision-making.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of leading change and delivering results in a dynamic manufacturing or logistics environment.
