Production Operator ($30.60/HR CAD, Continental Schedule)

The role of the Production Operator-l will be part of our Fairlife dairy production plant in Peterborough, Ontario and will be required to effectively operate, troubleshoot, clean, maintain and optimize manufacturing equipment within processing and packaging operations.

The Production Operator plays a key role in the identification of performance issues and actively contributes to the resolution of problems and the continuous improvement of the plant performance. This is accomplished through strict adherence to prescribed equipment operating parameters, closely monitoring the performance of the process equipment, and taking action to reduce occurrences of both efficiency and/or material losses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor multiple processing and packaging systems including fillers, homogenizers, batching equipment, heat treatment systems, labelers, casers, and CIP equipment.
  • Diagnose machine alarms and performance issues using operator consoles, system reports, and error logs to perform efficient troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Perform all Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures, chemical testing, sanitation tasks, and documentation while maintaining GMP and safety compliance standards.
  • Conduct equipment setup, changeovers, preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal production efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Safely operate forklifts and coordinate material handling to support continuous production operations.
  • Complete quality checks, compositional testing, and accurate production documentation to maintain product and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams and cross-functional departments to resolve operational challenges and improve plant performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work environments while following SOPs, Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, and all workplace safety requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required

Functional

  • Ability to bend, lift and/or twist
  • Ability to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc. and ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • Manual and finger dexterity
  • Standing and walking for continuous periods, including 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts or required necessary hours
  • Ability to work 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts or required necessary hours to meet the business requirements
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner while ensuring achievement of Quality, Service and Cost objectives
