Job Description
The Process Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role drives process validation, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration while supporting the implementation of digital systems and engineering best practices.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Lead the validation of design and implementation of process engineering solutions, including process flow diagrams, equipment sizing, and selection.
Oversee the commissioning and start-up activities of the plant, ensuring that all processes are operating as intended.
Coordinate with global equipment platforms, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and vertical start-up of process equipment.

Develop and implement strategies for continuous process improvement focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and productivity.
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot process issues and minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
Lead and mentor a team of process engineers and technicians, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Conduct regular process audits and reviews, preparing detailed reports on findings, performance metrics, and recommended actions.
Participate in the development and execution of training programs for plant operations staff.
Lead SAP implementation activities within Process Engineering as the SAP Super User, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and end-user training.
Support the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process deviations or equipment failures.
Lead or support risk assessments such as HAZOP, FMECA, and process safety reviews.
Monitor key process parameters and perform data analysis to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for optimization.
Ensure robust change management processes are followed for all process and equipment modifications.
Support energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability targets by identifying reductions in waste, utilities use, and emissions.
Maintain strong communication across departments to ensure alignment on engineering priorities, project timelines, and resource needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
Professional experience of Minimum 7 Years in process engineering within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
Strong understanding of process design principles, including mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and layout development.
Experience with commissioning, start-up, and validation of new equipment and production lines.
Proficiency in process modelling or simulation tools and ability to interpret PFDs and P&IDs.
Knowledge of automation, instrumentation, and control systems as they relate to process operation and optimization.
Hands-on experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Familiarity with HSE standards, process safety requirements, and methodologies such as HAZOP and FMEA.
Strong data analysis skills and the ability to use data to drive decisions and process improvements.
Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise systems; experience in system implementation is an advantage.
Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated leadership capability in guiding or mentoring junior engineers or technicians.
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and manage priorities under tight timelines.
