Materials Planner
Summary
The Material Planner manages the raw materials, packaging, and miscellaneous items inventory levels, ensuring they comply with agreed stock policies while completing specific actions to level up or down to optimal levels when necessary. This role is responsible to plan and execute the ERP system signals into specific purchase orders to be received on time to meet the production long term and short-term plans. This role also manages inventory at risk and our supplier management relationships.
What You'll Do for Us
Inventory Management:
Enforce Flavor Manufacturing raw materials inventory policies while completing specific actions to adjust or bring inventories to optimal levels when necessary and considering warehouse capacity and shelf-life.
Enforces raw materials and packaging inventory policies while completing specific actions to adjust or bring back inventories to optimal levels when necessary.
Enforce production miscellaneous items (e.g., filters, filter aid, etc.) inventory policies while completing specific actions to adjust or bring inventories to optimal levels when necessary.
Procure ingredients, packaging, and other items based on various demand signals.
Maintain Ingredient SAP item planning data to ensure system integrity and utilize those SAP signals for purchasing. Update RE forecasts into the ERP System and run MRP.
Communicate timing requirements of allocated ingredient lots for proper staging or on-site storage.
Generate freight purchase orders for incoming material to help better understand when material will be arriving and if material needs to be expedited.
Continuously update information regarding cleaning usage to help determine current trends and future requirements.
Schedule incoming ingredient bulk tankers receipts.
Maintain updated UN-certified package testing certificates, regulatory documents and closing instructions from packaging suppliers.
Materials Review Board and Non-Conforming Materials
Responsible for the Material Review Board (MRB). This includes identifying and presenting inventory at risk (considering days of supply, capacity, shelf life, etc.). and to different key stake holders (e.g. Finance, Technical, Production) to jointly trigger actions to minimize inventory losses.

Support the Non-Conforming Material Review (NCMR) process by participating on rework or disposition solutions with other functions.
Supplier Management:
Work in partnership with Strategic Ingredient Supply to ensure continuous supply of suitable quality raw ingredients.
Supply forecasts to Strategic Ingredient Supply to help create contracts and ensure material availability throughout the year.
Develop and manage relationships with vendors or suppliers to ensure proper capabilities, conformance with Company standards, and receipts of appropriate products and services.
Negotiate the purchases of approved packaging materials. Source and process new suppliers for approval as required.
Collaborate with suppliers and implemented solutions to seek continuous improvements in relation to ingredient quality and supplier performance. Manage vendor returns and resolution of quality issues directly with the vendors in a corrective action format.
Provide forecasts to suppliers on high value or high turnover ingredients to ensure continuous supply.
Follow-up on action plans coming from the annual Supplier Risk Assessment to reduce top risks.
Track and report Supplier Performance, while analyzing vendors' on-time-in-full adverse trends and timely report them.
Review, interpret, and verify MRP requirements in a timely manner and plan accordingly to ensuring availability of all purchased components and availability of finished product for customer orders.
Request and gather all regulatory paperwork for potential new suppliers and /or new ingredients.
Special analysis:
Review ingredient specifications for suitability and fit for use.
167/229 Analysis: confirm lots received are acceptable.
Ensure close analysis of orange oils levels.
Other responsibilities
Connect with Flavor Manufacturing-Wexford periodically to align on overall inventory levels.
Collaborate with various departments to implement continuous improvements projects.
Ensure department training requirements are met.
Support FMAp's DD&C for new ingredients and commercialization planning.
Support the Integrated Management System through actively becoming an internal auditor (KORE or ISO requirements, 5S program).
Ensure all processes under this role's responsibilities are properly documented to ensure a standard approach that could be improved with time.
Actively participate in the daily communication center and provide input or share information when necessary.
Manage, investigate and resolve assigned continuous improvements and nonconforming materials reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
University degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or any technical related field.
Master's in business administration degree is considered a plus.
APICS certification is considered a plus.
Experience and Critical Knowledge
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing facility in a similar supply chain role.
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Proficient in excel.

Food processing or pharmaceutical planning experience.
Considered a plus: Quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) experience and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Demonstrated interaction with senior managers (Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Legal, etc.).

Inventory management including analysis and quick implementation of specific actions that could generate an impact in the mid-long term.
Translate overall business strategies into operational objectives.
Identify inventory level gaps and develop actionable improvement plans, coordinating with the different departments.
