Manager, Consumer & Category Insights - Other Sparkling

The Manager, Consumer & Category Insights - Other Sparkling is responsible for delivering consumer and category insights to support brand strategy, innovation, and activation for the Other Sparkling portfolio in Japan.

This role works closely with Japan Brand and Category teams to translate consumer understanding into actionable insights that inform positioning, communication, and growth initiatives. The role is execution-focused and embedded in the day-to-day needs of the category.

Focus, Scope & Impact

  • Own consumer and category insight delivery for Other Sparkling in Japan
  • Support brand strategy, innovation, and communication development
  • Execute research and learning plans aligned to Japan business priorities
  • Ensure insights are timely, relevant, and actionable
  • Manage research agencies and budgets for assigned projects

Key Responsibilities

Consumer & Category Insights Execution

  • Design and execute consumer and category research plans (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Monitor consumer trends, category dynamics, and competitive activity in Japan
  • Identify key consumer needs, occasions, and growth opportunities

Brand, Innovation & Communication Support

  • Partner with Brand and Category teams to inform positioning, creative development, and experience design
  • Support innovation projects with insight input across concept, development, and post-launch stages
  • Contribute to communication and campaign effectiveness learning

Research & Learning Management

  • Manage research agencies and vendors to deliver high-quality outputs on time and on budget
  • Apply OU and global insight standards, tools, and methodologies
  • Synthesize multiple data sources into clear insights and recommendations

Insight Storytelling & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Translate data into compelling stories that influence decisions
  • Present insights to Japan Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Support decision forums with clear, fact-based recommendations

Experience & Critical Requirements

  • Over 7 years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or marketing analytics
  • Strong understanding of Japanese consumers and beverage categories
  • Experience executing qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience working with agencies and managing research projects
  • FMCG / CPG experience preferred
