This is a People Leader role. The incumbent must be currently based in or willing to relocate to the Atlanta, GA area and work a hybrid work schedule.

Digital products are central to how we create value, serve customers, and shape consumer experiences. Our product organization empowers small, agile teams to move with clarity, speed, and purpose, making digital a core advantage. We're raising our standards across product, design, and engineering, deepening user connection, and rebuilding our foundational systems end-to-end.

We are building an in-house engineering capability from the ground up, establishing the technical backbone for our digital products and platforms. This team will define the architecture and build resilient, scalable systems that accelerate value delivery and enable our product vision. If you are an engineering leader who has built modern, product-led organizations and wants to do it again at a meaningful scale, we want to meet you.

About the Role:

The Head of Engineering & Platforms is the senior leader responsible for building and scaling the product management team for core customer and commercial experience platforms and the engineering capability that powers digital products for North America. This is a foundational, entrepreneurial role: this engineering organization is in its infancy, and this leader will take it from 0 → 1, establishing the Product Operating Model culture, systems, and technical backbone for how we build software going forward in the largest operating unit ($18Bn+) in The Coca-Cola Company.

This leader sets the engineering vision and technical strategy across the Customer Experience Landscape, ensuring our products and platforms are resilient, secure, scalable, and designed for high-velocity iteration. They will build modern engineering teams, elevate engineering excellence, and establish a platform architecture that accelerates product discovery, delivery and the ability to measure outcomes across multiple markets, bottlers, and global ecosystems.

The Head of Engineering & Platforms is a critical partner to leaders across the enterprise within both North America and the globe. Together, they shape integrated digital experiences and ensure engineering is tightly embedded in discovery, experimentation, and the delivery of customer, partner, and associate facing solutions.

This role requires deep technical judgment, business acumen, a product-oriented mindset, and the ability to build and scale engineering capabilities in a complex, multi-entity operating environment. The leader will define not just how we build technology, but how technology creates true business value and a strategic advantage for the System.

What You'll Do for Us
Key Responsibilities:

Define Engineering Vision & Strategy:

  • Architect the Product Organization's long-term technical vision, strategy, and platform roadmap for North America product experiences.
  • Lead build-vs-buy decisions, strategically blending SaaS with proprietary tech. Ensure agile, resilient, observable, API-first architecture.

Build & Scale a Product-Led Engineering Org:

  • Build a 100-150+ person engineering organization from scratch, fully embedded in our Product Operating Model.
  • Hire, develop, and mentor leaders and ICs across full-stack, mobile, platform, data, and quality.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, ownership, and technical excellence.

Drive Engineering Excellence & Velocity:

  • Implement world-class engineering practices: advanced CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps, observability, and incident response.
  • Instill end-to-end ownership with clear SLAs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency using AI-driven tools.

Champion Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Partner seamlessly with Product leadership on discovery, experimentation, and outcome delivery.
  • Forge strategic alliances across North America and Global Digital & Technology, aligning technical strategy with business priorities.
  • Embed engineering deeply in customer understanding.

Ignite Innovation & Platform Leverage:

  • Accelerate market impact through shared platform capabilities.
  • Introduce cutting-edge tech, AI, and automation to improve customer and operational outcomes.
  • Champion innovation tied to measurable value: speed, reliability, cost, and impact. Influence global platform strategy.

Scope & Impact:

  • Direct accountability for engineering talent and delivery embedded in the Product Organization, including product and platform engineering teams.
  • Ownership of a ~$40M+ annual product engineering investment portfolio, spanning engineering capacity, platforms, cloud, and SaaS.
  • Build and scale a 100-150+ person product engineering organization, directly leading 6-10 senior engineering leaders.
  • Shape multi-year product platform roadmaps and modernization initiatives in partnership with Product leadership.
  • Influence broader technology strategy through collaboration and alignment, not enterprise ownership.

Complexity & Judgement:

The Product Organization operates within a deeply matrixed system spanning Company Operating Units, global platforms, and bottling partners. This role demands strong judgment in balancing product autonomy, enterprise standards, and platform reuse.

Decisions made in this role shape:

  • How product teams are staffed, structured, and empowered
  • Platform architecture that enables or constrains product velocity
  • Build-vs-buy choices for product capabilities
  • Reliability and customer impact within product experiences
  • Long-term sustainability of the product engineering model

The judgment bar is high, with accountability centered on product outcomes, platform durability, and team effectiveness.

INNOVATION

  • Modernizes how the enterprise builds, tests, deploys, and operates digital products by introducing advanced engineering practices, automation, and AI-enabled development tools.
  • Drives the creation of scalable, reusable platform services that allow product teams to move faster, reduce redundancy, and deliver consistent experiences across markets and channels.
  • Leads the architecture and technical strategy that enable new digital capabilities, including real-time data, personalization, mobile performance, service reliability, and multi-entity integration.
  • Champions experimentation and rapid learning, enabling engineering teams to test technical approaches, validate patterns, and iterate quickly, while maintaining high standards for reliability and security.
  • Identifies emerging technologies and brings forward solutions that improve performance, cost efficiency, developer experience, and long-term system scalability.
  • Ensures innovation is purposeful, tied to measurable business outcomes, and aligned with commercial, customer, and operational strategies.

This leader sets the technical foundation and cultural norms that will shape the organization's innovation capacity for years to come.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly leads 6-10 engineering leaders, including engineering managers, directors, principal engineers, product leaders, platform leads, and quality leaders.
  • Builds and scales a 100-150+ person engineering organization from the ground up, creating product focused team models, leadership development programs, hiring standards, and systems that support rapid learning and capability growth.
  • Designs the engineering organization structure, including team topology, decision rights, and operating mechanisms that support empowered product teams.
  • Builds engineering leadership bench strength, coaches senior leaders, and ensures robust succession planning for critical technical and managerial roles.
  • Defines engineering career paths, competency expectations, performance standards, and a talent philosophy consistent with world-class product engineering organizations.
  • Creates a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement, ensuring teams are empowered and aligned to enterprise outcomes.
