Director, Flavor Regulatory
Position Overview
The Director - Flavor Regulatory provides scientific and regulatory leadership to ensure the compliance, governance, and sustainable use of flavors across The Coca-Cola Company's global portfolio. This role leads the identification, assessment, and mitigation of regulatory and advocacy issues impacting flavors and core product formulas.
In close collaboration with Ingredient & Product Governance (IPG), Global Development & Innovation (GDI), Flavor Supply, Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA), CPS, Operating Units, and external partners, this role informs both immediate and long-term business strategy. Externally, the Director - Flavor Regulatory represents the Company in relevant trade organizations and industry forums, builds strong supplier and certifier partnerships, and shapes advocacy strategies to protect the Company's freedom to operate. This position reports to the Vice President, Ingredient & Product Governance (IPG).

What You'll Do for Us
Compliance, Governance & Strategy
- Lead global regulatory assessments and governance for flavorings and core product formulas, ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations and Company requirements.
- Identify, assess, and communicate emerging regulatory risks and opportunities that may impact flavors, formulas, or business continuity.
- Establish, communicate, and enforce Company requirements related to flavor regulatory compliance, trade secret protection, and third-party certifications.
- Develop KORE requirements and deliver training to internal stakeholders on flavor regulatory topics, religious certifications, and protection of proprietary composition information.
- Provide regulatory governance over flavors used in emerging brands and manage flavor submissions to the U.S. TTB.
Advocacy & External Engagement
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with flavor suppliers, certifying bodies, and industry trade associations.
- Represent the Company in relevant trade organizations (e.g., FEMA) and serve on committees to shape industry positions and collective action.
- Ability to assess and interpret the current, proposed, and emerging religious certification standards and impact of regulations to the business. Assist formulating Company positions and ability to influence trade associations to advocate in line with these positions.
- *Maintain and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders, including certifiers, regulators, and industry experts, to advance Company objectives.
Thought Leadership & Stewardship
- Provide flavor regulatory thought leadership, stewardship, and subject matter expertise to enable innovation, speed to market, and portfolio growth.
- Protect proprietary flavor and formula information while enabling effective regulatory compliance and external engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related discipline; Master's degree in Food Science, Law, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, with strong preference for experience in the flavor or food and beverage industry.
- Hands-on experience with U.S. TTB flavor/formula requirements preferred.
- Knowledge of kosher and halal requirements, certifying bodies, and global religious certification frameworks preferred.
- Strong understanding of the global flavor regulatory landscape, including key issues affecting the food and beverage industry preferred.
- Experience engaging with and collaborating/leading industry trade organizations (e.g., FEMA, ABA).
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex regulatory and technical information clearly to diverse internal and external audiences.

Location & Work Authorization
- To align with our global operations strategy, this role is open in the following locations:
- United States: Atlanta, GA (on-site). Relocation assistance is available for candidates within the U.S. Please note that work authorization sponsorship is not available for this location.
- International: We are open to reviewing candidates who currently work in an Operating Unit (OU) office located in specific areas where we need support and can benefit from having someone on the ground, such as London for Europe and Singapore for Asia Pacific. Please note that relocation support and work authorization sponsorship are not available for these locations.
Candidates must have existing work authorization in the country where they are applying.

$149,000 - $173,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
