Role Overview

The Director: Digital Commerce is responsible for accelerating Digital Commerce growth within the Franchise, translating Africa OU and global digital commerce strategy into market-level execution and scale.

The role focuses on revenue-driving digital commerce levers including B2B platforms, customer e-commerce, marketplaces, and emerging digital buying occasions, working in close partnership with bottlers, customers, and platform partners.

Strategic Context

Digital Commerce is a critical growth engine to improve customer reach, unlock incremental revenue, enable trade digitally, and build scalable commercial capabilities across the system.

The role sits at the intersection of Commercial, RGM, Marketing, and Technology, with a strong bias toward execution and results.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Franchise-level Digital Commerce agenda aligned with Africa OU and global priorities.

Translate strategy into annual digital commerce plans, roadmaps, and targets for bottlers.

Act as the primary Franchise interface to bottlers on digital commerce execution.

Drive adoption and usage of B2B and customer-facing digital platforms.

Manage and optimize digital commerce platform and marketplace partnerships.

Own digital commerce KPIs, dashboards, and performance reviews.

Partner with RGM and Finance to support net revenue growth, mix, and price realization.

Build digital commerce capability and support change adoption across commercial teams.

Leadership Scope

This is an individual contributor role with matrix leadership, accountable for projects and initiatives rather than direct people management.

The role requires strong influence across Franchise, bottler, and partner teams, with accountability for digital commerce performance outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

10-14 years experience in FMCG, beverages, or related industries

Strong background in Commercial, Digital Commerce, Sales Enablement, or RGM

Proven experience delivering results in B2B or customer e-commerce

Experience working in franchise-bottler or matrix environments
