Director, Business Insights

As the Business Insights Director for the Japan and Korea Operating Unit at The Coca-Cola Company, you will lead the Business Insights function, partnering closely with Financial Planning, Business Tracking, and Commercial, Marketing and Strategy teams to deliver valuable and actionable insights to the Organization. You will drive step-change in the comprehensive performance narrative, connecting external and input variables with the output metrics and financial performance of the business. Your insights will support critical business decision-making processes and drive our success in these dynamic markets. You also will be leading a team and the external team responsible for Industry and Share performance and calculation.

Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Performance Management:

  • Drive step change in the OU performance management process and capabilities, building a broad-based set of inputs, connecting disparate variables, and converting insights to actions for the OU.

Comprehensive Industry, Macro & Key Input Tracking and Analysis:

  • Lead Industry & External Environment Tracking: Oversee industry & external environment tracking and understanding across all categories and channels in the Japan and Korea Operating Unit, ensuring accurate share calculations in both volume and value.
  • Key Input Tracking & analysis: drive analysis of key input metrics across functions (Marketing, Innovation, Commercial) and correlation to overall performance management. Driving insights based on disparate variables that can lead to actions that positively impact business performance.
  • Monthly Share Reports: Direct the monthly share report process in collaboration with external agencies to ensure data accuracy and consistency. This includes generating reports, deriving actionable insights, and facilitating prompt information dissemination within the organization.
  • Data Guardianship: Maintain accurate category and channel classifications to comply with company guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct internal routines with senior management, bottlers, and commercial teams to provide comprehensive share information. This includes being responsible for share estimates at each reporting event or as needed.

Actuals and Forecast System NSR Process:

  • NSR Leadership: Guide the Actuals system NSR, volume by category, channel, and market, ensuring timely and precise reporting.
  • Forecast Calculations: Lead the calculation of industry volume and NSR by channel and category across all planning cycles (LRP, ABP, RE).
  • Trend Monitoring: Constantly monitor and communicate any changes in trends that impact business forecasts.
  • Year-End Industry Estimates: Collaborate with the global team to provide accurate year-end industry estimates.
  • Finance Collaboration: Supply the Financial Planning team with the information necessary to accurately calculate KO gross revenue, including gross concentrate price and rebates.

Scenario Planning:

  • Proactive Scenario Development: Develop scenario plans to anticipate trends that might affect business growth, providing insights that deepen the understanding of market and industry trends and dynamics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in cross-functional projects, contributing your expertise and insights to drive overall business outcomes.

Expected Development

  • Technical Financial Capabilities: Developing complex analysis, understanding macro context (Economic, Industry, competitors) that can impact the system performance
  • Leadership Capabilities accelerate tea development
  • Holistic Business view: Having a birds-eye-view to understand what is happening across the entire organization with potential implication to KO Business
  • Presentation/Communication Demonstrate ability to articulate yet complex topics in a clear and simple way to help educate various stakeholders on the key messages & insights behind the analysis
  • Collaborative Ability to work in a cross functional team, foster a cooperative & inclusive environment, and promote teamwork to achieve a common goal
