Global Transaction Banking (GTB) comprises three business lines: Corporate Cash Management (CCM), Financial Institutions, and Trade and Working Capital (Core Trade and Structured Trade). Within GTB, support functions include Credit Structuring, Product Development, Business Intelligence, and Business Risk/Control.
GTB is a key growth business within TDS, offering innovative solutions and treasury advisory services for large and complex liquidity, payments, and trade needs. Over the last decade, the industry has seen unprecedented innovation, which GTB continually adapts to meet clients' needs. GTB is highly integrated within TDS and TD Bank Financial Group, working closely with Risk, Operations, Legal, FCRM, and Treasury and Balance Sheet Management.
CCM provides treasury management products to large-cap public companies headquartered in Canada and the U.S., as well as subsidiaries of global multinationals. Treasury management consists of the collection, disbursement, and management of money, and the related information technology required to implement these processes. CCM provides the linkages between these large corporate clients and the global payments system through various technology-based products, supported by high-caliber sales and execution personnel. Each client typically receives a bespoke solution that allows their systems to connect with TD, facilitating automated money movement. Teams are located throughout Canada and the U.S., serving clients worldwide.

Job Scope
Responsibilities
The Managing Director, Head of Client Management, Corporate Cash Management, within Global Transaction Banking at TD Securities, will provide strategic leadership in defining and executing the client management strategy and is responsible for optimizing client onboarding, services implementation, and transaction execution. This executive role is accountable for delivering a high-touch, personalized client experience that distinguishes TD Securities in the marketplace and fosters long-term client trust and loyalty. The incumbent will serve as a senior point of accountability for key client relationships, ensuring proactive engagement, responsiveness, a deep understanding of client needs, and seamless coordination across internal teams to deliver bespoke client solutions.
As a member of CCM's senior leadership team, the Head of Client Management will play a critical role in shaping the evolution of the client management function as the business expands across the United States, Europe, and Canada. This front office role requires close collaboration with origination, product, operations, implementation, technology, legal, and risk partners to align client strategies with organizational objectives, while upholding consistently exceptional service standards. Additionally, the incumbent will champion continuous process improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance service delivery, scalability, accountability, and transparency, without compromising the personalized nature of the client experience.
This position is instrumental in embedding a client-first culture, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and positioning TD Securities as a trusted, premium partner in cash management and transaction banking.
Extensive knowledge of the Transaction Banking and Cash Management industry and the ability to act as a strategic advisor to large corporate clients in the areas of payments, receivables, liquidity & working capital solutions and systems integration is essential.
Key Accountabilities for the Role:
- Provide visionary leadership and direction to client management teams across multiple geographies, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-touch, value-driven client service to large corporate and select NBFI segments.
- Manage regional teams of Directors, Vice Presidents, Associates, and Analysts across Canada and the United States.
- Champion continuous process improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing enhancements that increase efficiency, scalability, accountability, and transparency while preserving a personalized client experience.
- Act as a senior escalation point for key clients, ensuring proactive issue resolution and long-term relationship sustainability.
- Embed a disciplined approach to client onboarding, service implementation, and technical integration of CCM's products and services, accelerating time to revenue
- Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives and cross-functional teams such as Operations, Credit, Legal, Risk, Product Management, Enterprise Payments, and Commercial Banking, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with coverage teams to accelerate business growth with existing clients, support wallet share expansion, provide feedback to Origination and Product Managers, and generate cross-sell opportunities. Maintain strong working relationships with other TD Securities lines of business within a consultative and client-driven framework.
- Demonstrate robust risk management acumen with a proven track record of proactively managing and mitigating inherent risks in transaction banking across large corporate and NBFI customer segments.
- Lead change effectively, helping teams adapt to evolving priorities, processes, and organizational needs.
- Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, Technology, and Implementation Teams to shape and execute go-to-market strategies for new cash management solutions, enhancements, and market launches. Drive end-to-end readiness of client management teams for new market entries, encompassing capability development, client positioning, service delivery models, and escalation governance.
- Ensure seamless execution of time-sensitive treasury and finance transaction flows for large corporate and NBFI customers.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain talent aligned with current and future business needs, setting clear expectations, goals, and priorities.
- This position is based in Toronto and will involve regular travel within Canada and the United States.
Attributes, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in the Transaction Banking sector, with a strong emphasis on Cash Management and Treasury Operations for large corporates and NBFIs.
- At least 10 years of proven success managing large Client Management teams across multiple offices and geographies.
- Extensive expertise with transaction banking products, including payments, liquidity, reporting, and cash management services utilized by complex, multinational corporations.
- Familiarity with core treasury technology and how solutions integrate to create value, including ERP/TMS systems, file formats, bank/SWIFT/API connectivity channels, and value-added third-party platforms used in a treasury environment.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver operational efficiencies and lead change management initiatives within a client management function focused on a large corporate client base.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility, with a client-focused approach to delivering value.
- Skilled relationship builder with the gravitas to engage and influence senior executives.
- Commitment to ongoing education and thought leadership, ensuring continuous evolution within the role and alignment with the forefront of client expectations.
- Proven track record of delivering results through cross-functional teams, demonstrating positive impact and influence.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and persuasively in both positive and challenging situations.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree, complemented by business training and/or demonstrated intellectual curiosity.
- Professional certification such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or CertICM is preferred.
