Job Description
We're on the lookout for a talented individual to join our Financial Sponsors Group team as an Investment Banking Analyst. Based in Toronto, you will work in a global team of 30+ professionals based primarily in Toronto and New York, covering private equity, infrastructure, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds.
As an Investment Banking Analyst, you will be exposed to a wide variety of clients, industries, financial services and products, and work on various integrated teams that will provide you with the necessary skills to develop, grow and thrive in Investment Banking. Working with various teams, you will help provide trusted financial advice and execution in leveraged buyouts, mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, recapitalizations, restructuring and financing mandates.
Job Requirements
How You Will Contribute
- Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and mergers and acquisition opportunities
- Develop valuation models of individual private and public companies as well as merged entities
- Apply valuation tools to assess opportunities
- Value private and public companies
- Assist with client negotiations and documentation
- Prepare external client proposals and internal underwriting memos
- Prepare client presentations based upon the above

Must-Have
- Undergraduate degree with a demonstrated interest in finance
- Have a combination of strong financial/analytical skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Adept at financial modeling and valuation
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to obtain FINRA SIE and Series 79 Licenses
Nice-To-Have
- Prior investment banking analyst experience
- CA and/or CFA designation considered a strong asset
