Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer II to join our AI Platform team. Our mission is to advance AI capabilities and deliver AI-powered solutions that optimize processes, improve productivity, and create meaningful value for our customers and colleagues.

In this role, you will help design, implement, and maintain AI capabilities on the Azure AI Platform, with a focus on knowledge management systems and databases that enable scalable and high-performing AI solutions.

You will play a key role in shaping our AI development practices and ensuring our solutions meet strong standards for reliability, quality, and performance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion and ETL pipelines that support a wide range of structured and unstructured content, ensuring high levels of data quality, integrity, reliability, and performance.
  • Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources into centralized data and content platforms that enable efficient storage, indexing, retrieval, and consumption for AI-driven solutions.
  • Configure, optimize, and operate data storage, retrieval, and access mechanisms to support performant search, discovery, and knowledge-based use cases.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of data pipelines, storage systems, APIs, and retrieval workflows, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable APIs that enable efficient data access and integration across platform and AI services.
  • Create and maintain clear, accurate documentation for data workflows, system designs, and best practices to support knowledge sharing, onboarding, and long-term maintainability.
  • Implement and uphold data governance and security standards, including metadata management and data cataloging, to improve data discoverability, usability, compliance, and protection of sensitive information.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional technology, operations, and product teams to ensure data and platform solutions integrate smoothly with existing tools, processes, and workflows.
  • Contribute to the execution of engineering strategy by supporting automation, tooling, and best practices across application and platform environments.
  • Apply an understanding of business and technical requirements to help identify effective solutions to evolving or non-standard data and platform needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external platform vendors to stay current on emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices relevant to AI and data platforms.
  • Support a positive, collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, communicating effectively, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and taking ownership of ongoing professional development.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • University or post-graduate degree
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in data engineering.
  • Experience with designing and implementing large-scaled data processing pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data platform architectures, data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline design.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure (preferred)) and big data technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Spark, Java, or Scala.
  • Understanding of API management services for creating, deploying, and managing APIs.
  • Strong working knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts, MLOps, and familiarity with AI frameworks.
  • Understanding of natural language processing, machine learning, MCP, RAG and Agentic AI
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
