Leads a team of communicators who support the internal communications efforts of all TD Securities lines of business. Works with leadership and senior executives to help shape the internal narrative.
Key Accountabilities
Customer
- Oversee/lead the development of communications to address enterprise/business needs/plans, in alignment with internal communications standards and/or goals, ensuring that strategies designed enhance TDS' presence with key stakeholders, highlighting TD Securities' brand, community ,and innovation initiatives
- Oversee/ lead the delivery and management of programs/project plans by assigning and tracking workgroup projects, ensuring established processes are followed, and delivering all projects on strategy, on time, on budget and error free
- Evaluate the impact of communications on the achievement of enterprise/business results, and ensure communications solutions/initiatives are strategically sound and consistent with TD's customer experience and brand image; ensure a high level of service by setting clear standards and continuously assess the effectiveness of programs, processes and documentation, and incorporate lessons learned into current and future projects/programs
- Provide input and work on cross-functional plans/projects/programs/initiatives; understand the enterprise/broader function's disciplines and how they link together to deliver integrated solutions
- Develop and manage good working relationships and maintain open dialogue with key internal/ external business partners and stakeholders to ensure adequate execution of project deliverables
- Actively work to resolve escalated issues and manage changes within the project/program/initiative
- Support the implementation of digital and social content strategy across multiple channels for internal /external stakeholders
- Contribute to and work with CAPA partners on proactive public relations campaigns that drive share of voice and enhance the brand
- Exercise judgment in dealing with sensitive reputational issues and provide counsel to executives
- Evaluate the effectiveness of corporate communications processes/services and recommend/champion possible enhancements
- As a recognized expert within own field of expertise, provide advice and guidance to employees and business partners on maintaining the brand standards, application and execution within area of expertise
- Maintain an understanding of TD businesses and products, keep current with key business initiatives/issues/developments within TD, emerging strategies, capabilities and/or trends in the industry field of expertise to deliver effective communications solutions
- Partner with digital team to drive leading-edge use of visual media: video, photography, interactive digital features and infographics, to tell TD's stories in compelling, engaging and immediate ways
Shareholder
- Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
- Plan and execute on strategic activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly
- Execute on the annual business plan to deliver results aligned with business strategies
- Manage overall budget, revenue and expenditures, meet business objectives while increasing efficiency and effectiveness
- Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to execute and implement
- Use measurement tools to help monitor and communicate the effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to own area of expertise
- Protect the interests of the organization - identify and manage risks, and escalate nonstandard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
- Ensure employees are knowledgeable; and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct
