Department Overview:
The Analytics, Insights & Artificial Intelligence (AI2) team delivers data- and analytics-driven insights that support informed decision-making and strategic planning across the organization. Within AI2, the Canadian Personal Banking (CPB) team provides end-to-end analytics support-including reporting, advanced analytics, and AI solutions-to drive measurable business value.
The Role
The Data Scientist III supports Investing Products within Personal Savings & Investing (PS&I), delivering advanced analytics that improve product strategy and portfolio performance. You will translate complex data into actionable insights that inform product strategy, customer experience, and pricing decisions, partnering closely with business, risk, and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver actionable insights from enterprise data to support product, pricing, customer, and portfolio decisions.
- Lead advanced analytical work (e.g., regression, clustering, time series, causal inference) to solve complex business problems.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business partners, influencing decisions through clear, compelling insights.
- Design and build scalable data assets, dashboards, and analytical tools to enable repeatable insights.
- Collaborate with Data & Technology partners to develop high-quality, reliable, and reusable data assets.
- Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to analytics best practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics, with ownership of complex, high-impact initiatives.
- Degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., data science, business management, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python/PySpark, with experience building production-ready analytical solutions.
- Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation (A/B testing), and applied machine learning.
- Experience developing analytical data assets, automation & models at scale.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services, particularly Canadian Personal Banking and/or Wealth.
- Experience with Power BI.
