Job Description:

TD Equipment Finance ("TDEF") is the specialized equipment financing segment operating within the Business Bank in Canada. TDEF has approximately 175 team members across Canada and over 4000 customers. TDEF provides term equipment financing solutions in both lease and term loan structures to shared bank relationships and to direct customer relationships to Canadian business across the country. TDEF team members leverage deep domain knowledge of the equipment and industries served and work closely with customers and bank relationship teams to provide solutions to that align well to their specific industry, equipment and financial needs.

Associate Vice Presidents (AVP) at TD Bank Financial Group are strategic, responsible and accountable members of the Bank's leadership team. We are looking for a seasoned professional for the position of Associate Vice President, Ontario, GTA, TDS and CNA, TD Equipment Finance, Canadian Business Banking to lead a sales team covering Equipment Finance clients across all of Ontario, GTA and CNA National and executing on the TDEF growth strategy: for both direct and shared CBC business.

This position is responsible for:

  • Building, developing and executing a business plan aligned with TDEF strategy and meeting or exceeding financial plan by driving revenue, market share and controlling expenses.
  • Developing and ensure ongoing success of the Regional Sales team. Assist the Sales Team to build new relationships and deep sales strategy within region by consistently following the Commercial Sales methodology.
  • Collaborating closely with the Managers of Commercial Credit within TDEF to align strategy, acceptable risks, and growth mandate.
  • Developing strong relationships with internal and external business partners and leverage these networks to increase referral flow
  • Structure, competitive Equipment Finance solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Assisting Account Executives with credit requests to determine risk and make appropriate recommendations to the TDEF credit team for structuring the credit; prepare credit applications with a high quality of risk assessment, credit structure, due diligence, and credit presentation. Ensuring all compliance and policies are understood and carried out.
  • Ensuring appropriate underwriting and presentation/discussion of credit files with Risk.
  • Managing the Regional sales team budget and sales goals for region.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Drive One TD market implementation including market management and community involvement.
  • Ensure shared leadership mindset around high potential resources across Business Bank
  • Deliver the Bank" by recommending, introducing and referring appropriate TDBG Business Partners and Products
  • Build for the future by attracting talent, motivating, and retaining a highly qualified and diverse human resource base to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships both with internal business bank partners and also with direct customer relationships across the region.
  • Ensure the business maintains sound operational controls and high standards around Audit/Loan review.
  • Support practices/operations that are consistent with the Risk Appetite of the bank and current credit market environment.
  • Support broader Business Banking Diversity initiatives and general succession planning.
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure success of enterprise-wide projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or over 10 years of relevant experience
  • Successful people management experience including effective coaching, aligning teams to your strategy, supporting career development of your staff.
  • Experience in Equipment Finance and understanding of enterprise value-based credit structures.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in business development and relationship management of clients with complex credit needs.
  • Results oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Deep commercial lending experience including sales and credit management
