FLSA: Part-time, Seasonal

Location:  New York City, in-person.

Dates: Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 Semester; Tuesday - Thursday, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Compensation: 18.50 / Hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

Weekdays at the Office

This school year SEO will host Weekdays at the Office initiative where each week there will be two distinct types of programming occurring at the office:

  1. Community Time: Planned and led by their Program Managers, each grade will delve into the week’s activities meant to foster and build community amongst their peers

  2. Asynchronous Programming: On-site instructional tutoring provided, along with quiet office space for scholars to “plug” in to their asynchronous weekday curriculum

The Office

Weekday programming, both community time and asynchronous programming will run at SEO’s main office:

  • 55 Exchange Place, New York, NY (Financial District).

     Key Responsibilities:

    • Check in Support - Welcoming and checking in scholars, instructors, and program staff. Directing community members on spaces around the office.
    • Navigate program technology– Setup program technology such as our attendance tracker, barcode scanners and Zoom chat. Provide project and adapter support as needed.
    • Track Inventory - distribute and track requested items such as Metrocards, program materials and any technology loaned out for the day.
    • Bodeguita management - replenish snacks at least once a day and cups as needed
    • General Program Support – Provide support for end of day closing procedures, completing biweekly inventory, moving program materials to storage and replenishing snacks.
    • Study Hall initiative - Using a set semester budget, working with your site team to promote new initiatives to foster community during asynchronous weeks such as “International Snacks weeks” , “Coffee/Tea week” or “Study music week”
    • Program Culture – Project an energetic, engaging, and approachable persona to promote students’ connection to the program, investment in the learning experience, and positive relationship to all members of the community.

     

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation, and ability to multitask and handle challenging priorities
    • Highly resourceful and solutions-oriented; flexible to work either in-person or virtual environments when needed
    • Skilled at troubleshooting technical issues and able to train team members on site
    • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback with their manager and fellow site team members
    • Sound judgement, maturity and ability to communicate and serve as a role model to high school students
    • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team based environment
    • Can lift and carry boxes up to 30 pounds
