Senior Accountant

Seeking to advance your expertise in accounting while making a measurable impact? As a Senior Accountant at Spectrum, you will oversee the preparation, analysis and interpretation of general ledger entries and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Your role will shape clear financial insights and drive operational excellence across assigned cable systems.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Prepare month-end journal entries from accounting transactions over the calendar month including A/R and Bank Reconciliations, operating accruals, and misc. revenue
  • Review assigned intermediate to complex ledgers to understand the variances both in trends and to budget and be prepared to present the financial statements to the accounting manager
  • Provide insight into the variances of assigned ledgers including communicating with Field KMA personnel on accounting related issues, completing monthly KMA variance reports, supporting the KPMG audit process, and providing specific required analysis on assigned areas
  • Affirm revenue validations and perform revenue analysis
  • Complete filings for assigned areas including semi-annual copyright filings and business licenses
  • Update all required schedules for maintaining the balance sheet, complete bank and accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Responsible for compliance with SOX controls
  • Review transactional level details including accounts payable transactions and adjust the ledger accordingly

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

Experience
  • 4+ years of general ledger accounting work experience

Skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to read, write and to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional and pleasant manner
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of cable television products and services
