Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Position Overview:
Perform tasks and assignments to support project objectives by applying engineering principles and concepts to formulate solutions.
Learning Outcomes:
- Use time studies and process flows to make production line improvements
- Work with team members to achieve short term milestones as assigned by project teams.
- Design, document, and review detailed work instruction and line layouts to achieve team objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support production as assigned by Product Support Teams
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Support production program failures and analyses as needed
- Process work instruction changes
- Support small automation/ operator assistive project design
- Support tool and fixture design
- Other assignments may be added / adjusted as applicable
Requirements:
Sparton interns must meet the following criteria:
- Active pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress. Prefer Industrial/ Manufacturing Engineering.
- Use time studies and process flows to make production line improvements
- Work with team members to achieve short term milestones as assigned by project teams.
- Design, document, and review detailed work instruction and line layouts to achieve team objectives.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work on-site in De Leon Springs, FL
- Nice to Have: Course Completion in Ergonomics, Automation, and LEAN manufacturing
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Mentor: Manufacturing Engineering Manager/ Delegate as needed

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and communicate, use hands/finger, feel, and reach with arms. This position requires the ability to lift, bend or stoop as necessary up to 20lbs.
