IT Technical Support Representative III

Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist III is a senior-level technical resource responsible for providing advanced support, troubleshooting, and operational guidance across the organization's IT Service Desk team. This role serves as an escalation point for
lower-tier technicians, leads complex technical resolutions, contributes to system administration tasks, and liaisons with other technical support groups within the organization. The Specialist III works closely with Systems Administrators, Network
Engineers, Cybersecurity personnel, and business stakeholders to maintain a secure, stable, and efficient technology environment.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Provide support for hardware, software, and user account issues.
- Support user onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Mentor Tier I/II technicians and help develop their technical skills.
- Serve as Tier III escalation for support issues related to:
- Windows 10/11
- Mobile device platforms
- Basic Networking
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
- Entra ID (Azure AD) identities
- Access issues
- MFA/PIM
- Conditional access
- Communicate effectively with users and leadership regarding outages, incidents, and projects.
- Assist in maintaining asset inventory and license tracking.
- Participate in IT projects and system rollouts.
- Provide training, documentation, and end-user guidance.
- Network connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VPN at the user level.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and system performance issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Assist with patch management, endpoint configuration, and security hardening.
- Manage user lifecycle tasks across AD/Entra, M365, and enterprise applications.
- Contribute to process improvements, standard operating procedures, and documentation.
- Assist in configuration baselines and provisioning workflows.
- Develop scripts (PowerShell preferred) to automate routine tasks.
- Assist in administration of enterprise tools such as:
- Intune/MEM for device compliance and application deployment
- Endpoint security (DLP, EDR, etc.)
- Remote access tools and monitoring platforms
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies (NIST 800-171/172, CMMC, etc.).
- Participate in incident response activities and forensic/triage tasks as needed.
- Remediate vulnerabilities identified by security tools (DLP, EDR, Vulnerability Scanning, etc.).
- Participate in an On-Call Rotation with other members of the Support team.
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications
- 5-7+ years of hands-on IT support or IT operations experience.
- Deep technical knowledge of:
- Windows OS, Office apps, M365 admin, and AD/Entra environments
- PC imaging, endpoint management, and patching
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS/DHCP)
- Strong PowerShell proficiency.
- Experience with incident management, ITIL, and ticketing systems.
Skills and Abilities
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA A+
- ITIL v4 Foundations (preferred)
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Experience in environments with compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, NIST/CMMC).
Travel and Physical Requirements
- Less than 15% travel.
