Hardware Reliability Associate (Starlink)

HARDWARE RELIABILITY ASSOCIATE (STARLINK)
One of the most ambitious missions that SpaceX has undertaken to date, the Starlink satellite constellation is our solution to providing fast and reliable internet to the entire world. Our facility in Bastrop, Texas manufactures the high-volume consumer products that we ship directly to customers. Our customers currently include teachers in the most remote parts of the Amazon, researchers in Antarctica, digital nomads, emergency responders, commercial airlines, cruise lines, and residential users who live in rural or developing areas.
The Hardware Reliability Associate position supports the Starlink product factory, specifically the Reliability team, which continues to grow as demand for Starlink increases globally. This is a hands-on position that operates light equipment and performs basic hardware investigation tasks in an organized and efficient manner. We are looking for a motivated and well-rounded individual to help ensure the productivity and reliability of our manufacturing facility, ultimately ensuring that we can produce thousands of Starlink kits every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support field returns through level 1 triage
- Perform functional and leak testing various Starlink products
- Operate test equipment required for hardware triage
- Set up and monitor extended testing
- Support hardware reliability root cause analysis and lab operations
- Execute equipment maintenance and calibration schedules
- Maintain consumables inventory
- Assist engineers with development builds/processes and other tasks
- Help develop and optimize triage stations and processes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained workspace
- Ensure product quality and conformance to design requirements
- Put safety as number one priority
- Communicate findings to engineering team
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years of mechanical or electrical assembly experience
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings and controlled documentation such as: Layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists
- Able to proficiently use a PC, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office suite
- Experience working in an electro-mechanical manufacturing company, a precision manufacturing company, or high-volume manufacturing company
- Experience with electrical wiring
- Electro-mechanical assembly and prototype development experience
- Experience setting up and running tests and experiments
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work one of the following shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
- Shift times:
- 1st 5:00am - 3:30pm
- 2nd 3:30pm - 2:00am
- Shift times:
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs, unassisted
- Ability to stand, climb, walk, and work with object overhead
- Willing to travel to other SpaceX sites as needed
