Become a Transmission and Substation Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will oversee the management of multiple commodities within the Transmission and Substation portfolio. Primary functions will include:

  • Collaborating with sponsors and execution teams to develop an optimal scope release calendar that aligns with business objectives and resource availability.
  • Continuously monitoring the health of the portfolio throughout the year, making strategic decisions on work priorities and trade-offs at all stages of the initiate, plan, schedule, execute and close (IPSEC) process.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the project conduit for communication status and additional service requests, escalating issues and managing risks
  • Defines and maintains standards for project management within the organization
  • Reviews and closely monitors project schedules and costs
  • Verifies the scope of work, budgeted quantities, total deliverables, the format of delivery, time schedules, plant layout, stress analysis, isometrics, and bill of materials
  • Interfaces with Project Controls functional department for reporting oversight and consistent application of procedures
  • Provides timely and accurate analysis and reporting to key stakeholders
  • May facilitate risk management processes, documents and coordinates risks associated with projects
  • Ensures established principles and processes are followed by project teams, including routing projects to the appropriate change control and governance decision-making functions
  • Recommends corrective action to Project Managers and wider project team, from analysis by the controls teams
  • Monitors the preparation of project control documents by following company standard procedures
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in project management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience working in the Utility Industry.
  • Experience in leading and adjusting project scope, schedule, and budget through effective collaboration with strategy, sponsor, and execution teams.
  • Experience in tracking and reporting of project performance.
  • Experience in relevant Distribution or Transmission and Substation Function(s) including but not limited to: Project Management, Planning, Engineering, Construction, etc.
  • Experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with clients, peers, and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder partner approval.
  • Experience with effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, and team building.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, List, and Project.
  • Project Management certification.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
