  • Assist in executing SCE\u2019s AI Governance Framework, including the Responsible AI Policy, AI Risk Questionnaire, and related controls.
  • Support intake and review of new AI use cases, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulatory expectations.
  • Help maintain documentation such as model cards, risk assessments, and exception logs.
  • Track and summarize developments in AI-related regulations and standards (e.g., NIST AI RMF, CPPA draft ADMT rules).
  • Coordinate with Legal, Cybersecurity, Privacy, and IT teams to support responsible AI deployment.
  • Contribute to awareness and training efforts across business units.
  • Participate in tool evaluations for model inventory, bias detection, and governance automation.
  • Support the development of an AI Champion Network across Operating Units to promote awareness, accountability, and consistent application of AI governance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Operates independently and with peers to execute information governance and data management practices and processes
  • Provides oversight and guidance for the information governance requirements pertaining to security project risk assessments
  • Sets, implements, follows, and promotes understanding of organizational policies and best practices in Information Governance
  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
  • Collaborates with key business areas to understand new requirements and develop recommendations for system enhancements
  • Provides implementation support for deploying information governance controls, working with a variety of stakeholders
  • Provides ultimate control for work and information governance
  • Synthesizes key information, data and research in order to recommend information governance initiatives that deliver business value across a single data domain
  • Gathers, interprets and evaluates information for incorporation into on-going department operations
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience with information governance and data management practices and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical or policy field. A Master\u2019s degree is a plus.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Technology governance, risk, or compliance
    • Data governance or privacy operations
    • AI/ML project support or model documentation
  • Foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts, including:
    • Exposure to AI/ML tooling (e.g., SHAP, LIME, model monitoring platforms).
    • Common model types (e.g., classification, regression, clustering)
    • Basic model evaluation metrics (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall)
    • Awareness of risks such as bias, explainability, and drift
  • Familiarity with AI governance practices, such as:
    • Use case intake and risk questionnaires
    • Model documentation (e.g., model cards)
    • Regulatory awareness (e.g., NIST AI RMF, CPPA draft ADMT rules)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate technical and policy requirements into clear guidance.
  • Certifications such as: Certified Artificial Intelligence Practitioner (CAIP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

  • This position\u2019s work mode is\u00a0hybrid.\u00a0The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
