Regional Construction Senior Manager

Become a Regional Construction Senior Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be responsible for the overall management of contractors performing construction and maintenance of the distribution electrical system, including project related activities within the region. Project work may include scopes within strategically sourced contracts, competitive bidding awards and Time and Expense (T&E). Work volume may require oversight of up to 50 contract crews executing capital, Time and Expense (T&E), and project work. The Regional Construction Senior Manager will be responsible for the successful completion of work and projects assigned to contract crews within the newly created Distribution Construction and Maintenance (DC&M) region covering Valencia and Antelope Valley district boundaries, as well as Tehachapi. The Rural Region Regional Construction Senior Manager will also be responsible for managing up to 10 employees, primarily consisting of Project General Supervisors and Construction Coordinators, who are distributed across contractor project stores and satellite staging areas. Responsibilities
- Oversees contractors and suppliers throughout the construction process and ensures warranty work corrections are completed, addressing any issues that arise through the implementation of corrective actions in accordance with established Contractor Performance Management (CPM) standards.
- Oversees detailed construction feasibility reviews on clearances, guying, anchoring, and documentation.
- Reviews staking sheets, material orders, daily logs, and commissioning reports for regulatory standards.
- Coaches employees on managing joint-pole procedures and curb-permitting processes.
- Collaborates with others to ensure alignment with contractual terms, conditions, pricing, standard assemblies/drawings, and training programs.
- Coordinates outage management, emergency-response plans, and outage reporting with district managers.
- Monitors and manages contract crews for safe and productive work practices and adherence to safety protocols and procedures in all operations, and takes mitigating action to ensure safety standards are met.
- Reviews, authorizes, validates, and tracks construction work orders and project scope, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner, resources are utilized properly, and work aligns with operational and organizational expectations.
- Reviews and approves contractor invoicing, change orders, and other financial obligations relating to the SOW, PO, and contract.
- Acts as Authorized Edison Representative (AER) to ensure compliance in managing source-contract vendors.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising safe, reliable, and efficient contractor-field operations through performance-data analysis, contractor oversight and management, and contractor-crew usage optimization.
- Completion within six months of all required Contractor Performance Management (CPM) training.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related professional, business, or technical discipline.
- Five or more years of experience working with a contract workforce.
- Strong decision-making capability, supported by analysis of contractual and resource planning requirements.
- Knowledge of and experience with regulatory requirements related to construction and maintenance of electrical systems (GO 165, GO95, and GO128).
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures related to work scheduling and the Bulk Work Order Process (BWOP).
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

- This position's work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Tulare. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at Identified Contractor Project Store Yard in Porterville.
- Position will require up to 15 % traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
- Relocation does not apply to this position.
