THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team in a temporary capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of recruiting experience who is eager to develop their skills within a world-class, fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will support high-volume temporary and entry-level hiring across Sotheby's Operations, Client Services, and Corporate functions, while also playing a key coordination role in delivering a seamless, best-in-class candidate experience. You will work closely with senior recruiters, hiring managers, and the broader HR team to keep our hiring processes running smoothly and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for temporary, seasonal, and entry-level roles across Operations, Client Services, and Logistics
- Source candidates through job boards, employee referrals, and social platforms to build strong pipelines
- Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and develop targeted recruiting strategies
- Screen resumes and conduct phone screens to assess candidate qualifications, interest, and fit
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records and requisition statuses in the ATS (Greenhouse)
- Support diversity recruiting initiatives by leveraging inclusive sourcing channels and practices
Interview Coordination & Candidate Experience
- Schedule and confirm onsite and virtual interviews, coordinating across multiple interviewers and time zones
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the interview process, ensuring timely and professional communication
- Manage the onsite candidate experience, including greeting candidates, coordinating logistics, and ensuring a welcoming and organized interview day
- Prepare and distribute interview materials, scorecards, and relevant information to interview panels in advance
- Collect and consolidate interviewer feedback and facilitate debrief scheduling

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree required
- 1–2 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience, ideally in a corporate or in-house environment
- Hands-on experience supporting or coordinating high-volume hiring processes
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems; experience with Greenhouse is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and personable approach to candidate interactions
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across HR and cross-functional teams
- Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Genuine interest in delivering an exceptional candidate experience at every touchpoint
- Passion for the art, luxury, or culture sectors is a plus
The proposed base salary for this position ranges from $30-$40/hr. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, and education. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
