POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Manager (Hong Kong) is responsible for overseeing all IT operations, infrastructure, and service delivery for the Hong Kong office, while also supporting and coordinating technology needs across APAC offices. This role is both hands-on and strategic, covering daily IT support, infrastructure management, cybersecurity enforcement, vendor coordination, and auction/event technology support.
The successful candidate will act as the primary IT contact in Hong Kong and a regional coordinator for APAC, ensuring stable, secure, and compliant IT operations while working closely with global Product & Technology teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. IT Operations & Support
- Provide day-to-day onsite technical support in the Hong Kong office (PC/Mac, mobile devices, printers, network equipment, AV systems).
- Handle onboarding/offboarding workflows, including user provisioning and access management.
- Maintain high availability of local infrastructure such as network equipment, Wi-Fi, cabling, and firewalls.
- Deliver IT and AV support for exhibitions, sale events, and client engagements.
2. Infrastructure & Network Management
- Manage and maintain local network infrastructure, including SD-WAN, VPN, wireless networks, and cloud connectivity.
- Monitor network performance and collaborate with regional/global teams to resolve issues.
- Oversee asset lifecycle management, procurement, and hardware standards across APAC.
3. Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Enforce global cybersecurity policies (endpoint security, MFA, patching, access control).
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, audit requirements, and risk management frameworks.
- Support regional security initiatives and IT security incident response.

4. Project Management
- Lead Hong Kong office IT projects and support regional initiatives, including cloud migrations, network upgrades, system rollouts, and office build-outs.
- Coordinate with global engineering teams on architecture updates and standards alignment.
- Manage project timelines, vendor relationships, budgets, and documentation.
5. Auction & Event Technology Support
- Provide hands-on technical support for livestreaming, AV systems, and redundant connectivity during major auctions and events.
- Partner with Global Auction Production teams to ensure high-quality technical delivery.
6. Vendor & MSP Management
- Manage relationships with telecoms, hardware vendors, AV partners, and managed service providers.
- Track SLAs, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure alignment with global procurement standards.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and infrastructure improvements.
7. APAC Coordination
- Support regional offices (e.g., Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Taipei, Jakarta) remotely and through occasional travel.
- Align regional IT needs with global standards and share best practices across APAC.
- Provide regional guidance for infrastructure, compliance, and operational issues.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 10+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure management.
- Strong hands-on experience with networking technologies (Meraki, Cisco, Palo Alto preferred).
- Proficiency with Windows, macOS, Active Directory, Azure AD, MDM/endpoint management platforms.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and enterprise IT governance.
- Proven experience delivering IT projects end-to-end.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with global teams.
- Strong ownership, troubleshooting ability, and customer service mindset.
Preferred:
- Experience in luxury retail, art business, or event-heavy environments.
- Familiarity with AV/livestreaming technology and auction/event technical setups.
- Exposure to regional IT challenges across APAC.
