How will you shape our tomorrow?
We are looking for a Quality Engineer (QE) to strengthen Quality Engineering practices across the Spark ecosystem. This role applies to both AX (Associate Experience) and CX (Customer Experience) streams.
During the recruitment process, candidates may be assigned to AX or CX based on interview feedback, team needs, and skill profile.
Regardless of the final assignment, the expectations, ways of working, and quality principles are shared across both contexts.
As a Quality Engineer, you will be part of a delivery team, contributing to both product quality and quality system maturity. You will ensure that automation, risk‑based testing, and early quality involvement are core drivers of delivery confidence.
Quality ownership & delivery
- Contribute to defining acceptance criteria and quality expectations for user stories and features
- Participate early in discovery, refinement, and technical discussions to assess risks and quality impact
- Drive risk‑based testing aligned with business criticality
Test strategy & execution
- Define, implement, and maintain test strategies aligned with shared QE principles (quality built-in, shift-left, automate as a tool for confidence and scale, continuous improvement, continuous testing)
- Design and execute functional, end‑to‑end (E2E), API, and exploratory tests, depending on the context
- Contribute to non‑functional testing activities (performance, reliability, accessibility) when relevant

- Contribute to shared automation principles and standards
Collaboration & enablement
- Work closely with developers, product owners, architects, and other QEs
- Promote Quality Engineering practices within teams
- Support knowledge sharing, documentation, and onboarding material
Continuous improvement
- Contribute to the evolution of quality processes, governance, and metrics
- Participate in cross‑team initiatives such as defect management, test observability, and AI‑assisted testing
- Continuously inspect and improve testing effectiveness and efficiency
The experience you bring
Core QE skills (required)
- Experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering in agile environments
- Strong understanding of Agile & DevOps principles
- Experience designing and executing automated tests at multiple levels
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and quality gates
- Ability to analyze failures, identify root causes, and provide actionable feedback
Technical skills
- Programming/scripting experience (preferred: JavaScript / TypeScript)
- Experience with modern test automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, WebdriverIO, Cucumber...)
- API testing experience
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Xray)
Collaboration & mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Ability to work in cross‑functional, international teams
- Quality‑first mindset with a focus on prevention over detection
- Comfortably make challenging decisions constructively when quality or risk is at stake
Seniority & growth expectations
We are open to candidates with different levels of seniority.
While the role expectations remain consistent, the level of mastery, autonomy, and scope of impact depends on seniority. Seniority is assessed based on engineering maturity, ownership, and impact, not on years of experience alone.
About skill mastery
For this role, we value mindset and progression over ticking every checkbox:
- Some skills may be applied with guidance
- Others with full autonomy
- And for senior profiles, with the ability to influence practices beyond the team
Interviewers assess the level of mastery and learning capacity, rather than expecting full expertise across all areas from day one.
Example of proficiency expectations (indicative)
- Confirmed QE: applies core QE practices with support, contributes to test automation and quality activities within the team
- Senior QE: operates autonomously, drives test strategy and automation quality, influences team practices, and mentors others
This framing is illustrative and not prescriptive, and does not limit growth within the role.
AX & CX context awareness
While the role is generic, QEs may be assigned to:
- AX (Associate Experience) delivery area: it covers the internal users and associates' experience when operating the business through digital tools.
That includes:- Internal workflows and operational tools
- Business processes used by sales, customer care, marketing, operations, etc.
- Back‑office and administrative systems
- CX (Customer Experience) delivery area: it covers the end-customers' experience when interacting with our digital products.
That includes:
- Customer‑facing journeys (browse, search, order, track, support)
- Public or authenticated touchpoints (web, mobile, APIs consumed by customers or partners)
- Reliability, performance, usability, accessibility, and trust from a customer perspective
The assignment is decided during the interview process, based on:
- Technical and functional strengths
- Experience and learning potential
- Team balance and delivery priorities
Quality principles, expectations, and engineering standards remain aligned across AX and CX.
What success looks like
- Quality risks are identified early and addressed proactively
- Automated tests provide reliable, fast feedback and support confident releases
- Teams progressively rely less on manual validation
- Quality becomes a shared responsibility across roles
- Continuous improvement is visible in quality metrics and delivery outcomes
- Fluent English. French is a plus.
Optional / nice‑to‑have
- Experience with large‑scale platforms or enterprise ecosystems
- Exposure to AI‑assisted testing or test observability
