QA Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications that support Sonepar USA's business operations. This role partners closely with software development, product, and business stakeholders to define testing strategies, execute manual and automated tests, and continuously improve quality assurance processes across the application lifecycle.

This is a hybrid position based in Broomfield, Colorado.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy, Planning, and Design
Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases aligned to business and technical requirements
Ensure complete functional and non‑functional test coverage across applications and integrations
Participate in requirement reviews to identify test considerations early in the development lifecycle
Test Execution
Execute manual and automated test cases to identify defects and validate system functionality
Perform functional, regression, performance, usability, and non‑functional testing
Validate enhancements, defect fixes, and release readiness prior to deployment
Test Automation
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
Improve test efficiency and coverage through automation best practices
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing
Defect Management and Reporting
Document, track, and manage defects using Jira and Xray
Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve issues
Validate defect resolution and ensure quality standards are met
Continuous Improvement and Documentation
Analyze testing results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Implement QA best practices to enhance overall testing effectiveness
Prepare test reports and maintain clear documentation of test procedures and results
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Required)
Experience
1-3 years of experience in quality assurance, test automation, or related IT roles (Required)
Working knowledge of:
- Node.js
- WebdriverIO (WDIO)
- Object‑Oriented Programming (OOPS) principles
- Test framework design
- BDD Cucumber concepts
- Git version control
- Jira and Xray
- API testing
- Load and performance testing
- Continuous testing and automation scripting
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Experience integrating automated testing with Azure DevOps, including pipeline configuration and Key Vaults
- Familiarity with Selenium Grid and mocking tools
- Experience with non‑functional testing approaches
- Knowledge of browser compatibility tools such as Sauce Labs or BrowserStack
- Experience with visual regression tools such as WebdriverCSS or Percy
- Accessibility testing knowledge using axe‑core or similar tools
- Page performance testing using Sitespeed or Lighthouse
Preferred Certifications
- ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation or Advanced)
- Certified Selenium Professional or equivalent automation certification
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ‑900) or Azure DevOps Engineer (AZ‑400)
- Agile or SAFe certification
- Accessibility certification (e.g., IAAP CPACC or WAS)
