The Role… 

At Soho House, a Head Bartender plays an essential part in overseeing the day-to-day execution of beverage service, maintaining high standards of presentation, and delivering a refined and memorable experience for our members and guests. Working closely with the Bar Manager, you will lead by example, showcasing exceptional mixology skills, strong product knowledge, and outstanding guest service

Your main responsibility is for training junior staff, maintaining stock and cleanliness standards, and supporting the development and execution of innovative beverage menus, ensuring the smooth running of the bar while upholding the values and elevated service culture of the club.

Key duties…

  • Lead bar operations during service, ensuring the bar is fully set, clean, and always running smoothly. 
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality beverage service, including classic cocktails, bespoke creations, fine wines, and premium spirits. 
  • Mentor, train, and support bar staff, ensuring high levels of product knowledge and professional service. 
  • Work with the Bar Manager to design and implement seasonal drinks menus, specials, and events offerings. 
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing laws, hygiene regulations, and health & safety standards. 
  • Maintain strong knowledge of products, suppliers, and trends to ensure the drinks offering remains relevant and engaging. 
  • Accurately manage stock levels during service, assist with stock takes, and report any shortfalls or wastage. 
  • Resolve any guest issues promptly and professionally, ensuring all members and guests feel valued and attended to. 
  • Work closely with the floor, kitchen, and events teams to deliver seamless service and coordinated experiences. 
  • Uphold the brand and ethos of the club through professional conduct, grooming, and performance.

What we are looking for...

  • Minimum 3 years of bar experience, including at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory position. 
  • Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, wines, and spirits. 
  • Experience in luxury, private members club, or high-end hospitality environments. 
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a team. 
  • Clear communication skills and confidence under pressure. 
  • Strong knowledge of licensing laws, hygiene, and health & safety procedures. 
  • Personal License or willingness to obtain one (preferred).
