Location: We are seeking a Sous Chef III at T-Mobile Park, home of the Seattle Mariners.

Job Type: Part-time / Seasonal

*This position follows the Seattle Mariners' home-game schedule from March through September. Work from October to February is not guaranteed and is based on business needs.

Union Status: Non-Union

Work Location: In-person

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Principle Function:

The Sous Chef III is an hourly, entry-level leadership position and represents the first step into culinary supervision within Sodexo Live!. This role reports to a more senior Sous Chef or the Executive Chef and is ideal for a culinary professional ready to take on greater responsibility in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized environment.

The Sous Chef III is a hands-on working leader who supports daily kitchen operations, supervises assigned stations or shifts, and helps ensure food quality, safety, and consistency. This position plays a key role in guiding hourly culinary team members while maintaining established standards, policies, and work rules.

Unionized Work Environment

This position operates within a unionized workforce. The Sous Chef III is expected to lead with professionalism, fairness, and consistency while working within collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), Sodexo Live! policies, and established labor guidelines. Success in this role requires the ability to communicate clearly, follow procedures, and foster a positive, respectful kitchen culture.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as part of the Culinary Leadership Team, supporting daily food production and service to ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality execution.
  • Supervise hourly culinary team members during assigned shifts or events, providing direction, support, and on-the-job coaching.
  • Manage assigned stations or kitchen areas (hot kitchen, cold kitchen, bakery/pastry) during service periods.
  • Ensure all kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling practices meet Sodexo Live!, regulatory, and governmental standards.
  • Support labor deployment, breaks, and shift coverage in alignment with operational needs and union guidelines.
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and development of culinary team members.
  • Help organize workflow and production to support smooth service execution during high-volume events.
  • Lead by example to promote teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to 100% customer satisfaction.


Qualifications/Skills:

Required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional food preparation or kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented operation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow and communicate written and verbal instructions clearly.


Preferred
  • Degree or certificate from a postsecondary culinary arts training program.
  • ACF Professional Certification.
  • Experience working in or alongside a unionized culinary environment, or a demonstrated willingness to learn and operate within collective bargaining agreements.
  • Experience in high-volume, event-driven foodservice operations.


Other requirements include but are not limited to:
  • Ability to work safely in environments with wet floors, temperature extremes, and elevated noise levels.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in often tightly-quartered kitchen spaces.
  • Flexible availability is required, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended or irregular hours based on event schedules.
