Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Chef Manager for St. Margaret's Center, a pediatric and young adult skilled nursing facility located in Albany, New York. In this fast-paced position, the manager will oversee feeding approximately 90 residents with a large population of tube feeds. The Chef Manager will also have oversight of a national school lunch progam operation off campus. Typical shift will be 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, with some weekends as needed. What You'll Do

  • lead a team of hourly employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring daily operations in the kitchen
  • provide hands-on support to the team, will cook as needed
  • oversee deliveries for a school lunch program
  • motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline staff members
  • utilize Sodexo resources, recipes, systems

What You Bring

  • previous food service management experience in healthcare or schools, institutional dining experience
  • strong leadership skills
  • basic culinary knowledge
  • working knowledge of ordering, management systems and inventory management
  • demonstrated success with leading and developing staff members
  • have a background in safety and sanitation compliance
  • experience in a Union environment is a plus
