Partnership Manager, Chicago (Contract Role)
Partnership Manager, Chicago (Contract Role)
Location: Chicago metro area (required)
Type: Independent Contractor
Hours: 10–20 hours/week (flexible)
About This Opportunity
SIRUM is expanding to Chicago — a major milestone in our mission to connect every person with the medications they need to stay healthy.
We're hiring two (2) Partnership Managers to serve as boots-on-the-ground community connectors, establishing SIRUM's presence across Chicago's healthcare and social service landscape. You'll be joining at the ground floor of something meaningful: helping tens of thousands Chicago patients access affordable medication over the next four years and saving families millions in drug costs.
This isn't a traditional sales role. You're building trusted relationships with organizations serving low-income communities, meeting people where they are, and translating a real solution into partnerships that change lives.
What You'll Do
Community Partnership Development
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with healthcare providers (FQHCs, safety-net clinics, hospitals) and community-based organizations (CBOs) across Chicago metro, with a focus on organizations serving families in lower-income communities
- Meet with decision-makers across all levels — CEOs, Medical Directors, Social Workers, Community Health Workers, and Program Directors — and tailor SIRUM's pitch to each
- Navigate diverse partnership models, from patient referral relationships to white-label pharmacy solutions through Good Pill
Partnership Activation & Onboarding
- Guide partner organizations through implementation and staff training
- Ensure a smooth handoff to the Healthcare Program Manager after partnership launch
- Document learnings and processes to help build a replicable Chicago playbook
Ecosystem Building
- Map Chicago's healthcare and social service landscape to identify key influencers and referral nodes
- Represent SIRUM at community events, health fairs, and professional convenings
- Support development of a local advisory structure as the program matures
Who You Are
Required
- Chicago-based with deep roots in the city's healthcare or social service ecosystem
- 3+ years of experience in a primary healthcare setting (FQHC, safety-net clinic, hospital, public health) — ideally as a social worker, care coordinator, community health worker, or similar frontline role
- Direct experience working with low-income, uninsured, or underinsured patient populations
- Proven relationship builder who is comfortable with stakeholders across the org chart
- Self-starter who can work independently, manage a pipeline, and iterate without much hand-holding

Ideal Background
You're a former or current social worker (or similar) at a Chicago FQHC or community health center who knows the local landscape, understands firsthand the impact of medication costs on patients, and can get meetings through warm introductions because people already trust you.
About SIRUM
SIRUM is reimagining US healthcare by connecting people with surplus medications. Founded at Stanford and a Y Combinator alumni, we're a fast-growing nonprofit tackling the ~$10 billion of medicine that goes to waste annually while families can't afford their prescriptions.
Our platform supplies $250,000 worth of medications to people in need every week. Our pharmacy service, Good Pill, delivers 600+ medications for just a $2/month administrative fee — mailed directly to patients' homes. We've helped 500,000+ patients access nearly 3 million prescriptions nationwide. Now we're bringing this solution to Chicago.
