Associate Producer

WLOS/MY40TV is seeking an Associate Producer whose primary responsibility will be editing content for our morning newscasts. There are opportunities to write and assist for both the News Producers and the Assignment Desk Editor as needed. This is a morning show position scheduled for 2am-11am. The candidate must have non-linear editing experience, strong news judgment skills and have experience editing compelling video and sound. Working well in a fast-paced environment is essential. This position requires education in journalism, video production, or mass communications.

Responsibilities:

• Editing video for newscasts
• Posting stories online and to social media
• Operating teleprompter during newscasts
• Assisting Producers with finding stories
• Assisting with other editorial duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

• The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to edit quality broadcast news copy under tight deadlines
• You must have strong news judgment skills
• Experience with Non-linear editing software a plus
• Available to work all shifts including weekdays, evenings, overnight, weekends, and some holidays
