Warehouse Associate III

2 days ago• Clemson, SC

1st shift: 6-2:30p M-F with OT as needed during the week and on the weekends.

This role's primary responsibility is moving received or transferred material from designated staging areas (receiving dock, internal make drop off locations) into the correct warehouse storage locations safely, accurately, and on time. The role validates material identity, quantity, condition, storage requirements, and destination before movement and completes all required SAP or scanner transactions so physical and system inventory remain aligned. The Put-away Operator manages routine activities, protects location integrity and traceability, and communicates risks before they create receiving congestion, inventory discrepancies, or material shortages. As a Tech III employee, this position must also be cross-trained and flexible enough to perform other warehouse activities assigned within the Tech III level or below. The role is expected to support structured on-the-job training for newly hired or transferred employees after demonstrating qualification in the applicable process.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform put-away as the primary function of the role, moving received, or transferred material from approved staging areas or drop off locations to the correct warehouse storage locations within established timing expectations.
  • Review SAP queues, transfer requirements, receiving dock, fab drop off locations, labels, and approved work lists to identify and prioritize put-away work based on material criticality, staging congestion, aging, and operational need.
  • Maintain an 8-hour dock-to-stock target, with no open put-away tasks aging beyond 24 hours, while keeping the GR Zone at a healthy and controlled level for both buy parts received from suppliers and make parts received from FAB.
  • Ensure OFO materials are accurately identified, transacted, and placed in the location designated for the applicable individual order. Manage collective materials according to the established collective process, replenishment signals, minimum and maximum levels, and designated storage locations to maintain material availability.
  • Confirm that material is properly labeled, packaged, stable, and free from visible damage; segregate and escalate unidentified, damaged, suspect, or nonconforming material according to the approved process.
  • Complete all required SAP, handheld scanner and approved warehouse-system transactions at the correct process step so the destination bin and system inventory accurately reflect the physical movement.
  • Use only approved movement types, storage locations, bins, and processes; do not bypass required transactions or perform inventory adjustments unless specifically trained and authorized.
  • Select and validate storage destinations according to system direction, bin capacity, material dimensions and weight, rack restrictions, compatibility, FIFO or other rotation requirements, traceability controls, and standard work.
  • Execute routine put-away and exceptions by checking labels, physical available locations, receiving records, staging locations, destination bins, blocked or restricted stock, open transfer requirements, and recent material movements; support discrepancy research when a potential inventory variance is identified.
  • Escalate missing or incorrect labels, quantity differences, damaged material, unsuitable or full locations, capacity constraints, unsafe storage conditions, and SAP or scanner errors promptly with complete information and the support required.
  • Monitor put-away backlog and staging-area aging, identify urgent or production-critical material, and sequence work to prevent receiving congestion, delayed material availability, and avoidable production interruptions.
  • Maintain location integrity by placing material completely within the assigned bin, preserving labels and traceability, avoiding mixed material unless authorized, and preventing overhangs, unstable loads, or blocked access.
  • Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, pallet jacks, scanners, and other assigned equipment only when trained, certified, and authorized; complete required equipment inspections and report defects.
  • Coordinate with receiving, replenishment, kitting, cycle count, and warehouse leadership to align priorities and resolve material, location, and capacity constraints.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for newly hired or transferred employees using approved standard work; demonstrate the task, observe practice, correct unsafe or inaccurate execution, and communicate training progress or qualification gaps to leadership.
  • Maintain cross-training and demonstrated proficiency in other applicable Tech III and lower-level warehouse processes.
  • Perform other Tech III-or-below warehouse operations as assigned for staffing coverage, workload, or business needs, including receiving, replenishment, picking, kitting, staging, shipping, cycle-count support, material handling, housekeeping, and related SAP or scanner transactions when trained and authorized.
  • Prioritize put-away work based on safety, material criticality, staging congestion, aging, production and shipping impact, established system direction, and instructions from warehouse leadership.
  • Stop and escalate immediately when material identity or quantity cannot be confirmed, the assigned location is unsafe or unsuitable, a discrepancy cannot be reconciled through approved checks, or a condition creates risk to safety, quality, traceability, inventory accuracy, or operational continuity.
