About the Internship:

This internship supports a high-priority transformation initiative focused on building a practical, repeatable way to forecast project demand and match it to available team capacity. You'll help build the model, build the framework/process, and build the dashboard reporting so leaders can make faster, more informed resourcing decisions.

What You'll Build (Key Deliverables)

  • Build the model: Create and iterate a resource capacity planning model (capacity vs. demand, scenarios, forecasting assumptions) using available data
  • Build the framework: Define a lightweight, repeatable planning process (inputs, definitions, cadence, roles, and handoffs) so the model can be sustained after the internship
  • Build the dashboard: Develop dashboards and recurring reporting that make capacity, demand, and gaps visible and usable for decision-making
  • Build the documentation: Write clear "how to use it" guidance, data definitions, and templates

What You'll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)
  • Gather requirements from project/program leaders and translate them into model inputs and reporting needs
  • Clean, structure, and validate data to ensure outputs are trustworthy
  • Analyze trends in project demand and workforce availability; surface insights and risks early
  • Present findings in simple, action-oriented formats (dashboards, short readouts, and visuals)
  • Partner with stakeholders through working sessions to test, refine, and operationalize the approach

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Senior-level undergraduate student (graduating soon) in business, analytics, operations, or similar; or graduate student planning to pursue an MBA / currently enrolled in an MBA program
  • Proficiency in Excel (modeling, analysis, and structured datasets)
  • Experience building dashboards/reporting in Power BI or Tableau (or equivalent)
  • Comfort working with planning or operations data in tools like Smartsheet
  • Ability to translate analysis into clear, decision-ready outputs for non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience building something similar in scope (model + dashboard and/or documented framework); you'll be asked to share an example
