Titan Data Analyst - Variant Configuration (SAP)
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $101,600 - $152,400 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Data Analyst - Variant Configuration (SAP) is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing configurable product data within SAP S/4HANA and ECC platforms. This role ensures that configurable products, rules, characteristics, dependencies, and logic are accurately represented so downstream functions-manufacturing, planning, ordering, and quoting operate reliably.

This analyst will work directly with the Variant Configuration (VC) team, comprised of Business, Functional, and data Analysts, which collaborates with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and digital/IT teams to translate business requirements into structured configuration logic and clean master data. The role requires strong analytical thinking, the ability to learn modeling tools (like ACE or proprietary rule engines), and excellent problem‑solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Variant Configuration Development & Maintenance
- Translate engineering and manufacturing requirements and documents into structured SAP logic to ensure correct product behavior.
- Create, Maintain and Deliver Configurable data scope for loading in test and production environments.
- Build and maintain SAP Variant Configuration models (VC) including:
- Characteristics, Classes, Object Dependencies, Configuration profiles, etc.
- Extract, analyze and validate VC data from SAP tables. Collaborate with functional and technical teams to resolve data related issues.
- Create and maintain data objects within ACE Product Configuration tool, to support data transference in SAP.
- Master Data Management & Governance
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to data quality.
- Ensure material master, BOMs, routings, and classification data are accurate and aligned with VC logic.
- Maintain data quality through audits, validations, and governance processes.
- Participate in Data Quality initiatives (DPU, DPO, Yield, KPIs).
- Analysis & Reporting
- Perform data mining, defect analysis, unit testing, and validation activities.
- Track and measure KPIs related to configuration accuracy and error reduction.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work with Engineering, Product Management, IT, and Manufacturing to gather requirements.
- Support Order Management, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams for product configuration issues.
- Excellent communication-can explain technical logic to non‑technical teams.
- Continuous Improvement & Digital Transformation
- Contribute to projects involving:
- VC logic and process improvements
- Implementing rule automation
- S/4HANA migration of configuration data improvements
- Identify opportunities to simplify models, reduce complexity, and improve performance.
Working conditions:
- Tight deadlines and multiple priorities, requiring decisive decision making in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to work outside the standard 8-5 schedule, across time zones, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as required by tight project deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience with SAP Variant Configuration (S/4HANA or ECC):
- Configuration Profiles
- Characteristics, Classes, Dependencies, Constraints
- Super BOMs and Super Routings
- Understanding of material Masters, BOM and Routing structures and Classification systems
Experience with data tools such as:
- Excel (advanced)
- Power BI, Tableau or similar
- SQL query basics (a plus)
- SAP tables (Query/SE16/) for data extraction
Analytical & Logical Skills
- Ability to translate engineering/product rules into structured logic.
- Strong troubleshooting skills:
- Analyze selection errors
- Identify missing logic dependencies
- Diagnose inconsistencies in materials or BOM explosion
- Ability to think in decision logic, truth tables, and cause‑and‑effect structures.
Preferred or "Bonus" Qualifications
- Experience with ACE configuration tools or similar rule‑based engines.
- Knowledge of BRF+ (Business Rules Framework).
- Familiarity with SAP CPQ, product configurators, or design automation tools.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering‑to‑order, or configurable products business processes.
- Understanding of digital transformation, automation, or data governance strategies.
- Working knowledge of Python, R, or automation tools (not required but future‑proof).
