Tendering Manager SAM

We are seeking a Tendering Manager to lead the SAM Tendering team, driving the delivery of innovative, competitive, and sustainable Energy Management solutions.

This role is critical to positioning Schneider Electric as a partner of choice, ensuring that proposals are customer-centric, digitally enabled, and aligned with our sustainability commitments, while delivering profitable growth.

The position is based in São Paulo.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead with IMPACT (Leadership & People Development)

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing tendering team, fostering a culture aligned with Schneider Electric's IMPACT values (Inclusion, Mastery, Purpose, Action, Curiosity, Teamwork).
  • Promote collaboration across functions (Sales, Finance, Execution, Marketing, Global Hubs).
  • Build capabilities in digital tools, technical expertise, and commercial acumen.
  • Drive engagement, inclusion, and diversity within the team.


2. Customer-Centric Tendering Strategy
  • Define and execute winning bid strategies focused on customer value, differentiation, and lifecycle benefits.
  • Ensure all proposals are aligned with customer needs, sustainability goals, and digital transformation priorities.
  • Support bid/no-bid decisions considering strategic fit, risk, and profitability.


3. End-to-End Proposal Ownership
  • Ensure full ownership of the offer lifecycle from opportunity qualification to final submission.
  • Orchestrate multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated EcoStruxure™ solutions (Power, Digital, Services).
  • Guarantee on-time, high-quality proposals in line with customer expectations and internal standards.


4. Technical Excellence & Innovation
  • Ensure optimal use of Schneider Electric's standard offers and architectures, while encouraging innovative and customized solutions where needed.
  • Validate technical proposals including:
    • Electrical design and system architecture
    • Single-line diagrams and layouts
    • Integration of digital and smart solutions
  • Promote standardization, modularization, and reuse of solutions.


5. Financial Performance & Risk Management
  • Drive profitable growth through accurate costing, competitive pricing, and disciplined margin management.
  • Validate costing models, margin sheets, and financial assumptions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks (technical, contractual, financial) in alignment with Schneider Electric's risk management framework.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in financial decisions.


6. Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to GCP (Global Commercial Policy) and Tendering Governance processes.
  • Lead internal reviews and approvals with the appropriate levels of authority.
  • Guarantee compliance with ethics, quality, and cybersecurity requirements.


7. Commercial & Negotiation Support
  • Act as a key partner to Sales during customer engagement and negotiations.
  • Provide strong technical and commercial expertise to enhance value proposition and win rate.
  • Support positioning Schneider Electric as a trusted advisor.


8. Digitalization & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive adoption of digital tools and automation in tendering (quotation tools, costing platforms, analytics).
  • Improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed of proposal preparation.
  • Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and global teams to keep offers up-to-date and competitive.


9. Sustainability & Responsibility
  • Integrate Schneider Electric's sustainability strategy into proposals (energy efficiency, decarbonization, circular economy).
  • Promote solutions that contribute to customers' ESG goals.
  • Ensure responsible and ethical business practices.
Qualifications
  • Advanced/Fluent English
  • Spanish (desirable)
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.


Experience
  • Large experience in Tendering, Proposals, or Engineering roles.
  • Solid experience of leadership experience, preferably in a matrix organization.
  • Proven experience in complex, multi-technology projects.


Technical & Business Skills
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Power systems and electrical design
    • Interpretation of electrical diagrams
    • Costing, pricing, and financial analysis
    • Multi-technology solution integration (Electrical, Digital, Services)
  • Strong business acumen and customer orientation.
  • Ability to balance standardization and customization.
