Tender Engineer -Electrical (Automation Projects)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tender Engineer (Electrical) with a strong background in Automation projects to support the preparation, submission, and management of technical and commercial tenders. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of automation systems used in industrial and infrastructure projects, including PLC systems, SCADA systems and VFDs with the ability to develop technically compliant and commercially competitive proposals for industrial and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze tender documents, specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals for Automation and Control System projects.
  • Review project scope and identify technical risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Prepare cost estimates, BOQs, and pricing sheets.
  • Develop technical compliance statements and bid documentation.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of vendor offers and subcontractor proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, standards, and project specifications.
  • Support pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client clarifications.
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project execution teams.
  • Prepare value engineering proposals and alternative technical solutions.
  • Maintain tender records and ensure submission deadlines are met.
  • Qualifications

    Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

    Experience
    • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in tendering, estimation, or proposal engineering.
    • At least 3 years of experience in Automation projects.
    • Proven experience in industrial automation, process control systems, and monitoring solutions.
    • Experience in industries such as Water & Wastewater, Utilities, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas is preferred


    Technical Skills

    Strong knowledge of:
    • PLC systems and control architecture.
    • SCADA and HMI systems.
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and motor control solutions.
    • Industrial communication networks and protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, etc.).
    • Control Panels, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and Monitoring Systems.
    • Automation platforms such as Schneider Electric, Siemens, Rockwell, ABB, or equivalent.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical and automation drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
    • Experience in BOQ preparation, system architecture development, and cost estimation.

    Software Skills
    • Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
    • Microsoft Office Suite

    Soft Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.
    • Team player with effective coordination skills.
