The Tender Engineer is responsible for managing the end-to-end tendering process for Category D and transactional business opportunities, ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive proposals that align with Schneider Electric's commercial strategy. This role supports the core ambition to be Faster, Simpler, and More Agile by driving standardization, margin control, and operational efficiency.
What will you do?
1. Tender Management
• Prepare and deliver high-quality technical and commercial proposals for Category D projects.
• Ensure compliance with internal governance (DoA, pricing & margin guidelines, risk assessment).
• Manage technical clarifications and deviations with customers.
• Collaborate with factories and engineering teams for accurate offer configuration.
2. Pricing & Margin Control
• Apply market-based pricing strategies and maintain visibility on offer performance (Top Line & GM).
• Support price list updates
3. Coordination & Communication
• Work closely with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Offer Marketing, and Order Management teams.
• Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline visibility in BFO
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on tender status and risks.
4. Customer Focus
• Respond quickly to customer requirements and ensure timely delivery of proposals.
• Support technical discussions and optimize solutions to meet customer needs.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3-5+ years of experience in tendering, proposal engineering, or sales support within electrical/electromechanical industry
- Experience in power distribution, switchgear, or energy management solutions is highly preferred. Familiarity with EPC/project business is an advantage. Strong understanding of electrical systems and solutions (e.g., LV/MV systems, protection, automation)
- Experience in tender costing, risk assessment, and commercial/technical bid preparation.
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE) is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills. High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Good communication and presentation skills. Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English (written & spoken)
